Plus no fuel price figs for lot of 06, just didn't log it on the old spreadsheet. To depressing to see what I was paying then.

Well since I posted previously, the car has now 5k, and had a binding brake issue fixed. The trip 'b' average has now climbed to 27, but the big news is that swmbo took it to Birmingham and back last week, and got a true 31mpg.

Arrghh. It was after doing the Land Rover Offroad Experience that I thought DSL had got it right
Should have foregone the D4 and kept my BMW 520d Touring for every day, and got a D3 to play about with.

I have the D3 for long journeys and messing about with while every day is a 116d 8 spd auto. I still much prefer the D3 though, or as my wife calls it, the sofa car. It is sitting at 27mpg. 30mpg is my comfort zone. much less and I grumble, any more is a bonus.

I'm very impressed by those figures. I've done 8000km in my SDV6 and can only claim 22.4 mpg. Drive like a nanna as well.
