I'll be driving it to Adelaide and back next month (3400 miles) most of it in a straight line. Hope it loosens up and gives me better figures.
I was surprised last time I drive down from Aberdeen to Glasgow 136 miles of dual carriage way with a town in between. I reconnected the battery so the mpg counter was zeroed. I decided I was in a hurry to get home so did not once look at the readout until I got near home. At normal motorway speed I normally average 25-26 mpg this time I was at 29mpg. Only difference was no cruise control enabled and in command shift mode Don't understand why going faster would improve the economy

Hi have had my car around 2 months now done just over 2k ......... mpg in and around town was
relatively poor .... approx 27mpg. This improved to around 28mpg as mileage increased to 2k.
I used to have an old Freelander 1 TD4 …. In which I used 2 stroke oil ….. approx 330ml per tank this worked well making the car smoother and more economical. Anyway I tried it in the Disco …… wow..
Mpg went from 28 to nearly 31mpg …. Well pleased - used 500ml for 3/4 of a tank of fuel.MY 2015 Se tec SDV6 auto

We averaged a true 32mpg coming back from Scotland yesterday Clocks showed and lying 36MPG!!!
You can ask the dealer to recalibrate the mpg trip so it tells the truth they all leave the factory reading 3-4 mpg gallon over. It keeps the man in the street happy thinking he is getting 35 to the gallon when actually it's 29 keeps them coming back buying new ones. They must be a bit thick when they fill up and get 350 miles to a tank.D4

I use road trip on the iPhone and am getting 24.76mpg over the last 2800 miles of mixed driving, around town, slow commute, country lane and some fast, free moving a roads. The trip computer shows 30-31mpg Sill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

One thing I have noticed since moving to the FL2 is that the lie-o-meter is far more accurate. I always calculate using brim to brim and use Fuel log to monitor every fill.
My D3 & D4 were always 3-4 mpg out no matter what the reading was.
My Fl2 has been within 0.5mpg on every fill to date ( still on the high side tho )
Not sure why there should be such a difference, but find it strange Cheers Ian

It's so you can have a rosie glow feeling you're saving the planet. I love posts where someone says he gets monster mpg based on the trip. Yeah, right. You're being conned by LR & mugged at the pump all at the same time.

I fill around the 500 mile mark. It did use to be around 540 miles but the gearbox software update did impact the mpg somewhat. The light is on at this point but judging by the refill there is quite a bit left in the tank.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

My lie-o-meter is well out, which was no shock but was annoyed at how far out it is.
Driving from Essex to Aberdeenshire meter was showing 35mpg now it's down to mid 29s, mixture of local driving and 50 mile runs on A roads with numerous 30/40/50 zones but using the Fuelio app to keep track its showing more like 23mpg!
