Cheers for the replys lads. Its a good step up from the 16ft dateline I have at the mo. Gave it a right good machine polishing today and it has come up like new, before I started I fitted the new intercooler hose to the disco! 15 min job. What a difference.
As per the towing the sticking out prop etc had a traffic x5 behind me on the m74 and they didnt seem bothered. I believe you are right though and the lights should be at the furthest extremity of the tow. Not much to secure it to though!
The boat is a 4.3 v6 so not the full blown v8 that does about 2mpg. Launching on sat! Fingers crossed all goes well.

Heave ho me-laddie
LR's make cracking towing vehicles in my experience and can tow well past their weight limits as some on here have shown... Iirc someone had a 20'+ beastie when their disco broke down and needed a hgv low loader with winch to get them home... Anyone going to fess up FFRR Owner, very nearly became a D3 owner
Test piloted a new D4 XS SDV6.. Gone and being forgotten i hope!!

Your right! Even with a burst intercooler hose it managed. Looking forward to seeing the difference tomorrow
