boat towing! not without problems
Finally found the perfect boat for us and went to pick it up from stranraer after it had arrived as freight on the ferry. Anyone who knows the road between stranraer and glasgow will know there are some seriously steep hills! Less than ideal when the intercooler hose pops and you have little power and a smoke screen kind of like james bonds db5. Used about 60 pounds of fuel on the 85 miles home, I suspect due to the knacked hose.
The split is so big I doubt even tape would have helped.
Here she is taking a rest after a seriously steep climb.

I have had my license since 1999 but no grandfather rights to tow a trailer that size, so still learning. Going to do the trailer test in the next couple of months. My father in law would have towed it but when he saw it he wasn't at all comfortable towing something that size so I slapped the l plates on

L-plates still looks funny and I had no idea of that law until a mate of mine asked me to accompany him for the reasons you give. His combination was massive and way beyond what I had ever driven so I declined to supervise him.
So he took his slightly frail Mum with him.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

I think it was another eu law. Surprisingly it is actually easier to tow than my smaller single axle trailer with a 16ft boat on it.

With a burst intercooler hose and that on the back, you wouldn't need to worry about all those average speed cameras
Looks good !There is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes.

My mate has the same boat in Spain very good stable boat and great for scuba diving from and water sports, we cruised around the marminor in it a couple of years ago, they are a nice boat but serving costs are high in Spain for them.
I think you may be at risk of getting stopped for the overhanging prop and stern drive. Need a trailer with lighting rig and plate that extends backwards behind the prop...____

Have to do the same when i move my caravan! Thing is i've towed loads in the past without issue but due to weights need to have an elder with me... Silly really as you can have any person sit next to you to 'advise' you and they could never have driven anything bigger than a mini in their whole life never mind towed.... FFRR Owner, very nearly became a D3 owner
Test piloted a new D4 XS SDV6.. Gone and being forgotten i hope!!
