Steering Wheel Switches

Applies to: Discovery 3/LR3/RR Sport (pre-10MY)

Note:

• All parts are electrically and physically compatible with all vehicles.
• When adding radio control and cruise functions these require enabling with a diagnostic system.
• Adding PTI (phone system buttons), voice control or adaptive cruise requires additional parts and enabling. Adaptive cruise may not be retrofittable.
• Adding steering wheel heating requires a heated steering wheel and may need a replacement clock spring (LR018556).

Colours

There are two horn button colours (grey 2005 and 2006MY, silver 2007MY on) and two panel surround colours original to the D3/LR3/RRS (dark grey to 2008MY, light grey 2008MY on).

There is a third surround colour, piano black, which was only used on the Freelander 2.

Not all combinations of buttons are available in all the colours, so you may have to change BOTH switch packs in order to match or swap the button/surround panel as above.

As an example, this applies if you are fitting a heated wheel switch pack to a 2006MY car - the heated wheel control is only available with silver horn button and light grey surround. And the same for piano black Freelander 2 switches.

Swapping Colours

A few minutes with a screwdriver will allow you to separate the switch assembly from the trim. This will allow you to swap the horn button or surround trim between switch packs. Evidently this only works properly when the surround trims have the same number of switch holes ;)
