A few whiffs of oxygen from my trusty concentrator and the patient has revived.

Robbie et al, thanks for the suggestions.

Robbie - my opinion is that the heater cokes up because of incomplete combustion. I think I'll try pushing the fan speed up a bit using the CO2 calibrate function. Do you know which way to nudge it?

That's what I did on mine once I got it running.
Adjust the CO2 up to the right (it turns the fan speed up rather that CO2) only go a couple of notches at a time (you'll hear the change in fan pitch) don't go too far or it'll blow the flame out and you'll have to reset Thumbs Up

I cannot remember which way it goes. I just slide it until I see the temperature rise.

Please be careful with the oxygen as it can change the properties of otherwise inert substances. Grease and oil tend to go bang with a high concentration of oxygen.

Well aware of the fun you can have with O2 Mr. Green

The concentrator is a 'relatively' safe piece of kit. You can't produce more than about 5lpm and there is no high pressure vessel with large amounts stored to make really big bangs.

Thanks, I'll try that next weekend.
