The numpty from up the top of the road who decided that whatever she was doing was more important than the fact she was driving a car and bouncing off the rear side of my car. The impact pushed my car forward about a foot and snapped her track rod and driveshaft. Mines looking so far like 4 bent suspensions arms and the impact has seized my locking wheel nut so got to smash that off so I can get the wheel off to properly inspect behind.

Idiot in Mallorca that tjought he should be on my side of the road. Forced me into the wall on a country lane in my hire car!

Mince pies.
Now, I like a mince pie but seeing them for sale already - we haven't even reached the autumnal equinox - is a bit silly. They'll be selling Easter Eggs in November at this rate. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Costco has had Christmas stuff in for eight weeks. Expect the Cadburys cream eggs to go on display on the 27th Dec there as well Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

I too love a Mince pie, but not cheap and nasty ones with what's best described as over sweetened Baby food Mush like filling.
You need the texture and taste of actual lumps of fruit etc, and a nice shortcrust pastry.
And an open top, or just a very open lattice. Too much pastry ruins the experience.
Perhaps I'm too fussy, or take it all too seriously, but I enjoy food far too much to put up with eating rubbish.
Lady Nasher makes a mean Mince pie. She's uses Meridian no added sugar Mince Pie filling and her own home made pastry.
They are especially nice warm, or with piping hot custard.
And that's why it's still too early in the year to eat themHeaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

No pastry on top? That's not a pie then, it's a tart. (Sounds like a scrummy tart, however! )
And as for those places that serve "steak and ale pie" that comes as a dish with a piece of puff pastry sat loosely on it, that's not a ******* pie and you should all be hanged, drawn and quartered for lying to your diners!

In total agreement... every time I order a pie I ask the server if it's an actual pie or some stew in a dish with a pastry lid
Can't be too careful, nothing quite as disappointing as receiving a fake pie when you were expecting a real one.

On a different subject.
I don’t know quite what name or description to give him, perhaps you lot have suggestions, but a guy at the Gym last night really annoyed me.
I go to a ‘nice’, Club type, Gym, and being a big snob about it thought that by doing so I avoid the worst of the Idiots.
I was just finishing on a Curl Bench when a couple in their late 20’s came over and asked if I was finished.
I have to admit I’d noticed them a little earlier, mainly because of what she was (not)wearing.
I said “help yourself, do you want me to leave the bar as is?”
Normally I’d re-rack the loose weights of course, but he said “No, that’s great, thanks”
The bar was at my finishing weight of 40Kgs.
In the locker room later I was getting changed and chatting to a bloke I see there often.
The guy from earlier came in, saw me, and very aggressively said “Are you taking the P**s?”
“Really” I said, “What’s the problem?”
He replied “Showing me up in front of my bird, I couldn’t even lift that f*****g bar you left me”
“You made me look a P***k”.
I laughed at him and luckily he turned away and walked off.
Afterwards of course I realised I should have told him he was doing a good job of looking a P***k all by himself, but you don’t think of these things at the time.
What’s annoyed me is how much it annoyed me, if that makes sense.
It’s the sort of situation that can get out of hand really quickly, and of course will mean I’m a little on edge there for a while if he’s around again.
I’m twice his age, although obviously maybe a little stronger, but really don’t need any sort of physical confrontation these days from Testosterone Fuelled Morons.
