Neighbours.....
Two of my neighbours play in covers bands, and to their solo practice in their respective garages. Both are pretty good, so no problem when they are practising one at a time, but every now and then they practice at the same time, sometimes they are playing the same track at the same time, but all too often they are one track out of synch....Rob Smith

Stupid Airbnb hosts......
On our recent Spanish driving holiday we stopped over in Perpignan heading homeward bound. A typical, for us, private apartment accommodation in 'old town' area of the city with private parking (this was a 'private' space on a residential floor, accessed by a separate key fob, but in public multi-storey car-park).
Flat was lovely, nice welcome note, etc. Two night stop was overall great.
On leaving we followed all their exit rules, there were many and precise (as in stripped bedding left here, towels left here, TV remote there, aircon remote there, fan remote here, crockery locations, etc.). I did the last sweep and, pretty much as usual, I wipe over round the sink and the floor in bathroom with a used towel as SWMBO loves to splash water and talcum powder around.
Messaged to say left and where keys were, etc. got back to car and some has keyed all down my drivers door
Next morning in Bourges having a lovely relaxing breakfast in a French chateau and my phone pinged. Even my basic French understood enough to read we were being asked for €36 for cleaning of drugs in the bathroom and they had 'evidence' (none was attached). I declined this 'request' pointed out the 'evidence' wasn't attached and, at very worst case it would be the slightest residue of talcum powder on the floor and possibly toothpaste in the sink. I said that their comments were libellous and their claim ridiculous and at the very least contact with me first expected not just a claim via Airbnb (maybe that's how it works, I don't know....)
She immediately escalated it to Airbnb resolution centre (all the messages are timed on the portal) who asked me to comment. I cut and paste the response I had sent the host and 40 seconds later the case was closed by Airbnb.
Sat finishing my coffee and fresh croissant, blood pressure falling, and my phone pings. I have a message from the host.....
Go onto my account and a lovely note how we've been perfect guests, everything perfect and would love to see us again....... eh
It then dawns on me the dippy cow has probably realised I haven't left my guest feedback yet...., gonna enjoy writing that one

I’m not a frequent Airbnber, in fact I’ve used it once in my life. “We” rented a 59 foot sailing boat through them for MWC in Barcelona which was awesome and much better than a set of hotel rooms, but once you make a review I guess they’re not editable?

It isn’t posted or readable until the other side do theirs too.
She did her response along lines of saying great communications so didn’t understand my issues and she’d had to involve Airbnb to resolve!
I still get a chance to reply so summarised my original response, gave the Airbnb responses and that I’d had a lovely ‘post visit’ comment off them as a host after Airbnb rejected their ridiculous/libellous claim and that they’d then go on to claim other issues (as they did) but that it’s all there for reviewers to read and make their own mind up….
I gave positive feedback on the accommodation and poor on the host. Looks like my low scores have lost them their ‘super host’ status…..

TNT this time.....
TNT scheduled to pick up an urgent package to go back to a supplier in Spain. Collected it from my works Thursday afternoon.
Today......... it was delivered back to me AS THE RECEIPIENT. The packaging couldn't be much clearer as to who SENT it and WHERE IT IS GOING TO.
To make it worse, it actually had a "we tried to deliver it" (to me) sticker on it for the Friday morning but "unfortunately you were closed". FFS, you couldn't make it up sometimes

Mobility &/or Kwik Fit
Mrs C has a Mobility Car, currently a Peugeot 2008 just on 3 years old & due for replacement when the replacement arrives.
When it was MOT'd it had an advisory on the F/N/S tyre (rubbing damage to sidewall), so, up to KF who have the tyre contract for the Mobility Fleet. No problem to change one tyre - the O/S/F is not far from the wear bars,so, can you change both please ?
The answer is no, they (KF) said that the replacement tyre may not be a match for the others.
OK, what happens when the other one needs replacing ?
That one may not match either.
This means that the car could then have 3 (or even 4) unmatched tyres on it !
Reference to KF's own website say's that they recommend that tyres should be replaced in pairs on the same axel & match.
All the main tyre manufactures say the same & recommend that they do.
Motorbility say the decision is KF's.
KF say the decision is Motorbility's.
Anyone else have issuse like this on fleet vehicles ?

Brian, how long before the replacement vehicle arrives ?……If not long, does it matter that much ? Any worn or odd tyres will be the problem of whoever sells it on, if motability don’t want to play ball, that’s their look out.D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. Back when I had company cars, I had a similar issue except it needed a pair of tyres on the front axle - FWD so wore the front quicker than the rear. KF were the nominated supplier. They said "we'll fit 2no. Chinese ditch finders". Me, not happy, contacted the lease company. They said "we pay for legal tyres". I.e. they weren't going to put a decent tyre on it. As it had plenty of time to go, I ended up paying for two new tyres to match the OEM tyre. My life was worth a few quid so far as I was concerned.
I handed it back with tyres at 2mm all round. They said "you haven't looked after it". I pointed out I'd paid for the tyres so they were mine to wear out. Heard nothing more. F**k 'em.

I had this with lease companies. I just told them what I wanted and if they didn't play ball I'd raise it at the Board meeting about the contract. Never had an issue. They had no idea I didn't sit on the board. New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)
