It’s taken me a while to get round to posting this but the Autel saved our Christmas holiday. Having escaped from corona-jail the day before Christmas Eve (several days later than we planned to leave), we packed the Disco and jumped in ready to go. All was fine until I pressed the EPB switch and… instant red warning and Parking Brake Fault on the screen.
There had been no previous indications of a problem and a quick check with the tool brought up U2002-01 “Switch general electrical failure” (intermittent). A few resets later and normal service was resumed. I’ve had no further indications of trouble but I’ll be ordering a replacement switch to fit at the earliest opportunity.

Indeed there are some differences on the white one, u don’t want the 10 x service one but the 19 x service functions as that states about the key programming
Other Service Functions
Additionally, the OBD2 code scanner AP200 also supports 17 more service functions for better vehicle diagnostics and maintenance, including: EPB/BMS/TPMS/Brake Bleed/DPF/IMMO Keys/SAS/Suspension/Throttle/WIN DR ROOF,Seats,Odometer,Lang Change,Headlamp,CHG Tire Size,TEC Learn,Trans Adaption.
Hope that helps

I’ve found my Autel really lagging of late - to the point where I almost avoid using it now, unfortunately.Defender 110 2.4 TDCi Utility Station Wagon.

I bought the Maxi AP 200 last month for about £50 off Amazon, arrived the next day after ordering. So far I've read and cleared codes and reset the steering angle sensor. Does all live info etc. Not yet recalibrated suspension, which is the next job. Not tried the key programming but the icon shows up in the menu
Edit: the tyre size thing doesn't function, even though the icon is present

Sounds more like water ingress / corrosion to the harness under the vehicle than a switch issue, failed switches tend to stay failed, high resistance due to corrosion can come & go dependent upon the weather or movement of the harness due to vibration.

Hi there,
Any news (or views) on the key programming possibilities with autel?
I just posted a similar question in an older thread (https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/new-key-programming-194264.html) only to find out this more recent one.
the possibility of programming keys is a major aspect of my purchase. Wife loses them and LR charges incredibile amounts.
Also been thinking a out icarsoft buy not sure it does, besides me having the impression it is less intuitive thans autel.
Thanks for any insight!

They definitely do programme keys but you need the “older” AP200 (white one” word is that the capability was removed with later models.2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

Had to replace my iPad due to lack of memory. When transferring all the apps over etc noticed whereas the Autel app was previously occupied 2.04 GB it is now About 870 MB. This may explain the loss of some features or maybe not!Once you have defeated the idiots any job is half done. Pity there are so many idiots to defeat.

Before ordering one, you'ld better check if the AP200 works with your car: ...........................
I removed the link as it seems to be infected, but search for "vehicle coverage".
So I found out that unfortunately, it doesn't cover a Discovery 4 from 2016 nor a D5.

In the UK is autelstore.co.uk the best place to order an Autel Maxiap AP200 to get a genuine one at the lowest price (£57 vs £68.99 via Amazon)?
