BAS FBHIC GSM user testing option. |
|
As you all know we are producing our FBHIC kit2 GSM option, it hasnow come to the final testing and debugging stages and wewant to offer a couple of you the change to have a play with the SMS set up option on our prototype test rig.
All of the functions will work as it should EXECPT you can not fire the heater as we do not have one connected, The battery voltage sent in the SMS ST status messages is a "ghost" voltage of 11.1V and the water temp is also a "ghost" temprature of -50.
Belowis the function list showing all of the options available and hoe to set up and or change them. Im willing to let ANYONE pair their phone to it and have a play changing settings andgetting status messages back. basiclly do your worst lol.
However, I do please ask that if you are paired to the sim/GSM kit you post here telling the members someone is in use to save them trying it untill you are finished, and after you have had your share of fiddeling you send it a RE sms to clear your number and post here saying that so the next user can have a go.
The number is 00447851568271 the first person to send a sms with ST in it will get paired. After you send a command please give it a few mins before you send the next. The kit is stuck in my office with only a small GSM signal so the network speed is slower than normal
So please be patient with it and give it time to accept the changes from the SMS sent before bombarding it with commands.
For who cant see at the moment, the ST message reports like this.
Comms err This is because I dont have FBH connected, or in a real case you have not connected pin 2
Mode E
Volts 11.1 This is default battery voltage for the purpose of this exercise.
Flts 0 This is fault codes present in FBH
GSM 12 This is the GSM signal strength
Def run 30
Def temp 76
Def rdy 45
Msg lev 4
0/00/1/1/11.1 This ill talk later
56/14/8/0/00 This ill talk later
Please remember this is GSM SMS not Skype or MSN and responces do take time to get over the network, and this willbe now like newyears eve lol with you lot connecting to it

command list.
The GSM (kit2) version of FBHIC module is configured using SMS messages and once configured the FBH may be started and stopped by RF remote, push button inside the FBHIC module, auto disconnecting phone call or SMS message.
The unit can be set to operate in three different modes:
Normal FBH is started and runs for a set time and stops, as Kit 1
Temperature target FBH is started and runs until the configured target temperature is reached, with a maximum run time of 60 minutes
Economy This is a “be ready in x minutes†mode. The user configures x minutes and the FBHIC reads the start temperature and calculates at what point the FBH has to start in order to just reach the configured temperature after the x minutes. For example, “ready-in†is set to 60 minutes and the target temperature is set to 76 deg C. ambient temperature is 0 deg C and the unit is triggered (by phone call or text), the FBHIC waits for 27 minutes and then starts the FBH and allows it to run for 33 minutes. If the ambient temperature is 16 deg C then the delay would be 38 minutes followed by 22 minutes heating.
When delivered the unit does not have any configured telephone numbers.
The user should send the FBHIC an SMS message with a valid command (eg ST).
This action will configure the sending mobile number as the primary telephone number (T1).
This number will also be used by the FBHIC for auto-generated progress messages.
List of SMS commands:
Each command is two characters followed in some cases by parameters
MO=x Set mode, where x is N, T or E for Normal, Temperature or Economy
ST Request status of FBHIC by return SMS message
ON Trigger FBHIC to operate in normal mode
OT Trigger FBHIC to operate in target temperature mode
OE Trigger FBHIC to operate in economy mode
OF Turn FBH off
Note: Commands ON, OT and OE may optionally be followed by a parameter (=x) to temporarily override the default setting.
T2=1234567890 Sets the second of three possibile telephone numbers (Add last 10 digits ONLY)
T3=1234567890 Set the third of three possibile telephone numbers (Add last 10 digits ONLY)
T2=D Erase number in T2 location
T3=D Erase number in T3 location
RE Reset primary T1 telephone number to nothing, ONLY from existing T1 number or By BAS on request.
TQ Identify configured telephone numbers by return SMS
TI=x Sets the default normal run time (MAX 60 mins) Default 45 mins
TE=x Sets the default target temperature (MAX 90C) Default 76c
RT=x Sets the default ready in x minutes (MAX 240 mins)
CF Clear all FBH faults
FP Fuel prime for 20 seconds
CO Run the combustion fan for 5 minutes
CP Run the circulation pump for 5 minutes
ML=x Set the message level to x
Five message level settings are possible:
0 no messages
1 fault messages only
2 fault and start messages
3 fault, start and stop messages
4 fault, start, stop and delay start messages
