No, I don't think they compromised it, but I think that they did accelerate the corrosion. I off-road mine regularly and I found that the sliders trap a lot of muck behind them, so mine will be off again soon to 'waterproof' behind

Very nice car Robbie and the sliders aren't 'in your face' like the side steps are. You guys are gonna be busier than a test bench in a plunger factory!

Have started a post about side bars but these sliders look great and would also sort my need for steps. I and guessing that they are a lot more expensive than bars.... What brand are they? I could not see mudflats - are they compatible?

They were secondhand so not sure of the make. You can fit mudflaps with them.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

They have been on for a while now so planning on removing them and checking everything when the weather is warmer. Some of the hardware is starting to rust so will replace all the fasteners too.

Will hopefully be attempting to fit my prospered sliders in a week or so but have side tubes on at the mo so not sure what they will be like to take off or what state the bodywork will be underneath them as I have had the old girl 7 yrs now and think they have been on since it was new? Not sur if I still have to remove some plastic or sill cover after the tubes come off?Looking at this old post I had better stock up on denso tape, some wax oil or underseal, some cooper slip and any other advise or suggestion will be welcome. Oh also will be fitting the prospeed air compressor cover so not sure if it's a straight and easy swap if anyone has done one in the past.

Yes your existing bars, brackets, plastic sills and clips will all have to come off. Probably worth getting some penetrating fluid on the fasteners now.
Unless I find anything nasty under my existing set I am just going to spray some Dinitrol HP on the inside face of the new sliders and the sills if needed and bolt them on.

I was just looking for a brush on type wax oil as I'm not the greatest with spray and didn't want to find it all over the car also looked at the link on pg1 of thus post which has steered me in the right direction....hopefully.
Will get some penetrating oil on the tube bolts if it can get through D4 HSE Lux MY16 Club Waitomo
