Been chatting about that in the pub earlier !
Would the dealer buy an engine from LR .. then fit it and charge them for the lot ?
Make sense if LR supplied the parts and the dealer just charge for labour etc
Someone on here must work at a dealers and understand how it works G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

When my original D4 (one of the first off the line) had a new engine it took them 3 days from the new engine arriving to me having it back. They did however have the body off and the old engine out ready and stripped down. That was also a full engine with new turbos and a host of other new bits.
I guess Adrian's was the same, as soon as the claim was approved they probably started to strip the car and remove the engine so when the new engine arrived it was swap over parts and put back in.
From memory I seem to remember £18K being banded around as the cost but cannot be sure and as I did not pay I was not that bothered.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

A few years back Mitsubishi put a new short block engine + turbo on a Shogun under warranty. The dealer provided an itemised list of parts and price of around £8k. Assume at cost. Then they must have claimed for labour on top of that.
If it is labour only and the lump came foc from Landrover, £400 for the gear selector fitting seems a little high, I'm assuming this was the in cabin knob , not a big 3-4 hr job that ?????Altox GSM FBH controller thread

1 AA van , 3 relay trucks , pre paid taxi to dealers , new sport to smoke around in , car back withing 9 days , all clean and valeted and kept informed by dealers all the way
Always great to see a slick response to such an incident ...shame they all can't get it right eh.
