I get that younger buyers may not know/care about the heritage and pedigree of the Jaguar marque and agree that the recent SUV variants have hardly been exciting.
BUT, with the pricing suggested to be around the £100k mark for the new all-electric luxury range, then the demographic of potential buyers must be above a certain age point. I’d assume that point would be quite high.
It all seems like a unnecessary and very costly exercise to me.
I was chatting with someone who works with JLR. They suggested that the whole point of this ad was to get people talking about Jaguar. Be that positive or negative didn't seem to matter. It was just about getting the name n people's lips.
If that's the case, it worked a treat.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

A case of "throw the baby out with the bathwater"
Jaguar has more than "history", Jaguar is a Legend! Which marketing guru would consider ignoring that.
Even the X-Type, designed under Fords auspices and accused of being a Mondeo underneath the shell only shared less than 20% of the Mondeo components. How can you "delete ordinary" when Jaguar have never been ordinary.A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.

jAgUaR's issue isn't brand its product.
They need to fix the product offering first. Rebranding like a fridge isn't going to help them.New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

Wonder how long the lower panels will last with speed bumps all at a cool £225,000 , only 88 will be built
In the same week Jaguar unveiled a radical rebrand for its bold electric future, a small Berkshire-based car maker revealed the antithesis; a 'new' classic Jag with a roaring 12-cylinder petrol engine.
Within days of Jaguar bosses showcasing a controversial new company identity, logos and advertising campaign, which car fans have lambasted as 'woke' and 'unhinged', reborn TWR has showcased its limited-edition XJS Supercat.
