That reads pretty well and looks to be a decent and honest extended warranty, thanks for sharing, maybe look at a Porsche Cayenne as my next car, especially as will tow our caravan.

They aren’t as practical, the boot is much smaller, but mine has proven to be about 15% more economical. Of course it drives better 380bhp and 850Nm of torque makes for a great road car and tow car that will embarrass a lot of much sportier cars. It’s not a LR, but it doesn’t need to be. If you want a fun car that is a great tow car and an amazing mile muncher have a drive of one. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

The Cayenne Hybrid looks interesting; did you try one Paul before you bought your ICE?
The Cayenne boot looks rather small, but I haven't compared the actual measurements with my D4.

Thanks for the info will have a look, we moved to an x5 40d, never thought about a Porsche!
I have found similar with the x5 it tows very well, is more economical, and surprisingly quick with an average of 33.6 mpg over the first, but wouldn’t want to take it far off road as you say it’s not a LR

No I didn’t Nigel, the foot print of the boot is a good size, the car is a fair bit wider than a D3/4, but the rake of the rear window hampers matters. TransK9 make a cage and Porsche themselves do some decent rubber mats to hold mud and crap in, but on 21” rims it doesn’t do more than an easy grass field. I had a new VW Toureag on 48 hour test drive last weekend. It is now at the forefront of my list to replace my D4. I was really impressed with it and for my needs now, fits perfectly. Its also significantly cheaper than a D5 both to buy, lease or PCP. D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)

We tried the VW Toureg back in 2010 and were well impressed with it and in fact almost bought one but the waiting period was far too long and as it was at the time that VAT was increased and Land Rover guaranteed the price at the old VAT rate we went for the D4.
And I must add that until this breakdown the D4 has been a wonderful car, both solo and towing plus the luggage space is fantastic which we need as our Airstream is right on its weight limit so when towing masses of our paraphernalia must go in the car
Using our little MGF with hardtop on at present so no chance of towing LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF

I considered one but it was just as the new one came out and there was lots of reports of hesitation before the car moved away and that put me off at the time, I presume this either wasn’t as bad as described in early tests or they cured it?DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Just had a phone call from Beadles to say my car is on its way back to me Should have been done two weeks back BUT when new engine was fitted they discovered the turbo was playing up - so new turbo fitted all done under ''good will'' from JLR - should be able to go and get a Christmas tree tomorrow.
Have just taken out its tenth year warranty for 2020 and now looking forward to going off to France with our Airstream around Easter. LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF
