Good news and well done JLR, it is just a shame they don't put this in writing to give people peace of mind; they would still have my custom if they did and I know I'm not alone.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

I’ve searched hi and low with reference to this:
“I seem to recall reading on this forum that the modified crankshafts were fitted to MY2016 D4 cars
onwards.”
However no joy! Anyone?

@Pelyma - I’d be interested to see any example of Porsche, or any other manufacturer, putting it in writing that they will guarantee to swap out engines in 8 year old cars, without at least reviewing them on a case by case basis.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Is it right to assume that if the service history was fully up to date with all the relevant receipts, but was undertaken by an independent LR specialist and you asked for a gesture of goodwill LR would politely tell you to sling your hook!!
Ironic considering the independent garage would probably have been more thorough looking after your pride and joy than a main dealer ever would be
Great result on the new engine Discovery 4 HSE

Land Rover will want to be seen to be supporting their dealer network as much as supporting their customers.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

If you have their extended warranty which you can up to 15 years or 125k miles then they write the exclusions on the policy and are found on the website too.
Quote:
Like your car, we want to ensure your Porsche Approved Warranty also stands for reliability and trust. This means openly stating what will not be covered under a Porsche Approved Warranty and why. As a Porsche ages, it can undergo visual and acoustic changes without affecting its functionality (e.g. cracks in the leather). Also certain parts are subject to ageing and natural wear. For this reason your Porsche has scheduled service and maintenance intervals. Visual and acoustic concerns, wear and tear are not defects and are therefore excluded from the warranty.
The following are affected by wear and tear:
Wiper blades
Tyres
Brake pads and brake discs
Shock absorber
Clutch disc and clutch pressure plate
Drive belt including tensioning guide rails and roller
Spark plugs
Batteries
PDCC reservoir
Coolant
All light bulbs (excluding Xenon and LED-lamps)
All filters, fluids, oils and greases
It costs about £800pa so similar to the LR one.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Great news and well done LR, I feel exactly the same, if they had been prepared to put it in writing I would still have my 2016 landmark and be saying what a great company they are, but sadly they don't its just case by case goodwill, and as spending my own money its not a risk I was prepared to take.
Btw mine was a late 2016 landmark a d the crank failed at just over 20k miles, so if they have modified the engine for 2026 models they didn't do a very good job!

As far as their exclusions are concerned, is this all they publish on their site?
Neither this, nor what is written above, is a full list of T's & C's.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

This is the T&Cs for exclusions page from my warranty KFD and is an insurance based scheme, like LRs, but has to list explicit exclusions. I see no such exclusions that would prevent me claiming for a new engine unless I has raced, modified etc the car.
