Was looking at the 'new' D4 at the boat show yesterday - Land Rover always have a stand - The DISCOVERY lettering on the front looked really odd, probably because we're all so used to the LAND ROVER.
I asked a bored looking salesman if it was an attempt to distance the Discovery from Land Rover and align it more with Range Rover?
He didn't really answer my question, but just went on about the extras in that actual car over and above the HSE. It was so exciting I can't even remember what he called the model.

I hereby name the rear lights D4.5 rear lights. The next thing to have Captain Nick Medhurst would ask:
"What is the first rule when overlanding?"
I would Reply:
"Duratrac"

Surely using LR logic, it should be 'Baby Disco'

I have to say it looks better with LAND ROVER across the bonnet, if I were in a position to order one getting the dealer to do it would be the selling point!

I am sure the average dealer would do it for you. For the price of the LAND ROVER letters and a pack of dental floss I am sure it would be better to do this once you get the car home. Unless the DISCOVERY grows on me this is what I intend to do next year.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

New one in Fuji white ordered for Jan delivery.
Don't care what it says on the bonnet myself, could always de-badge it if you are toooooooooooo embarrassed to drive it.

That's weird, the one I saw in Frankfurt had a black grille? Didn't notice they had more than the one.

Am about to jump in with my first Discovery after lusting for one for along time and have very quickly moved from "urrrgh Discovery label on front looks really naff" to "actually thats pretty smart" - the allure of the new shiny quickly kicked in!

I've been looking at enhancing my D3 V8 and as I'm only a pensioner and can't afford £55K, was pricing the upgrades for a D4. Saved myself a complete upgrade and can go straight onto the Discovery for the same price. Kind of Land Rover to keep the same body shell, just for me.....And if it's road tax you're looking for, even with a V8, I only pay £280 tax cause of it's age. Sometimes getting old isn't all that bad....

Sun10,
Do you know if the car in the picture you posted is Scotia Grey?
