06S, just the right amount of boxes ticked, especially with heated steering wheel fitted & TomTom app on the iDog&Bone. And no leaky drain tubes or engines going bang. Touch wood.

I know, boring, but what else to do during a coffee break.
If I wasn't looking at this, I'd be looking at things to buy for the car or camping trailer, so I saw this as doing myself a favour and saving money!!!Front Runner Rack, OEM Ladder & RAI, Tuff-Trek Foxwing, B'rakhah Ingonyama Expedition Trailer, RLD's Spare Wheel Protector, Bodsy's Bars, Empty Pockets! I find it hard to believe that the air suspension is optional, perhaps on the entry level 2.0D with no high/low range but the rest of the range with the 3.0 diesel will have it.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Yes I think on the Q7 air is an option rather than standard.
Personally the air suspension makes all the difference with the Disco for me so I would spec it if it was not standard. I can live with the one piece boot lid with a sliding floor if it is well done but I still need the 3rd row seats.
As for engines the post is interesting and makes me wonder if they will not put the V6 diesels in, instead waiting for the inline sixes to be released 6-12 months later?
PS Memo to LR - I do want a petrol BTW.2014MY Discovery

A common strategy when developing a new car is to release a new car with existing engines first, and then carry out a new engine uplift mid life cycle. This engine then continues into the beginning of the next car in the line, 5-10 years later. This spreads the development and financial risks (and workload) and ensures that the marketing teams have something to crow about throughout the product lifecycle for their adverts.
Based on this, I would be surprised if the straight six made it into the initial D5 variants, and I can't see them launching without a (V6) diesel .

Agree in general but the 'net reckons the new inline engines will be ready in late '17 and the Disco Sport had it's similar engine refresh after six months. Bizarre if you ask me!2014MY Discovery
