That's the problem it now looks like a trend. My wife and I have four cars and only one is a diesel and that is because LR will very happily make a RHD V6 petrol D4 down the road and then send it half way round the world to sell it rather than to my house!
I just prefer petrol, I know that the diesel in the Disco is very well done but it would not be my first choice. Trouble is the rest of the car is way ahead of anything else on the market, hence the reason I am on my second.2014MY Discovery

It makes a lot of sense for LR to have it as a cost option.
There's any number of people who will pay the price of a V6 D4, yet accept a 4 cylinder Audi or a Volvo instead and still pay for extra for air suspension to be added!
If LR can build a car that's stylish enough to attract the muggins, then why not make as much money as possible? In their shoes, I would! 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

If it comes out with the only reasonable priced one not having air suspension and only a 2.0d then I'd be as well with a Disco Sport.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Not that much different to what I expected from seeing the concept vehicle. Cheers Ian

So it's a Disco Sport XL It's a Disco Sport XL, with added aluminum, the same 2 litre diesel and a bit more space, along with the likely cost option of the air suspension that we currently get for free.
The problem is that, while the Disco Sport is good at what it does, it's completely the Wrong Stuff to replace the full size Disco.
I knew it would be disappointing, but I was still hoping against hope that, under all of those disguises, they'd pull a surprise on us at the last minute. As it turns out, it's a total disaster. If this really is the best he can do then Gerry McGovern can go and jump in a lake as far as I'm concerned!2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

The vision concept looks better. I was expecting a DS XL but it's still a shock to see it.
Discovery RIP
No real reason for me to buy a Disco next time around, better with a Disco Sport for a fraction of the cost.
And to think it will cost the best part of £50k23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

How sad ... it just looks like a scaled up version of the disco sport.

I still prefer my robust and chunky looking D3 (and the D4 if I had one).2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.
