I maybe wrong, but that's what I had previously been told. Let's just hope that the FFD5 is those dimensions or bigger then
Interesting thing though is the 2017 New Ford Explorer and Vision Concept/FFD5? Look remarkably similar and I still wouldn't be surprised if the JLR and Ford platforms come from the same origins.
The proof will be when we see both side by side!

Anyone else think that it looks absolutely massive on the road? very high at the rear too. Still 50/50 on the tailgate they could have been sneaky with the camo, if its one piece it will be very big by the looks of it.
Those pics definitley more encouraging size wise at the rear.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

It may look like an explorer but it's definitely based on the D7u platform.
Either way I'm warming to it, I may have been a bit hasty in cancelling my deposit.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

We shouldn't have to "warm" to a design. A design is either good, bad, or indifferent. Warming to a design is building up an immunity to indifferent or bad design by repeated exposure
Look at a Ssangyong Rexton for long enough and even with one of those, the pain will start to fade after a while 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

I think that looks like a one piece tailgate, the object to the left of the numberplate could be where they would have to cut out for the reverse light as that line along is the bottom of the rear lamps.Cheers Ian

Yes, could be a bit of exposed reversing light.
Surely the no. plate will be square and off to the left. If so, the recess that's it's in on the photo is an odd bit of design if it is a one piece tail gate.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

I think the surround above that number plate could be fake it's to square and the space to the right of the number plate looks out of place. Where's the boot release? If it's a one piece it would be lower down rather than under the high number plate cowl to give a more natural lift motion. Lifting a one piece from its middle would smack your legs MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

The people who add the camo disguise could well have read these posts and thought that they'd wind us up by making it look like a split tailgate. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Unfortunately owning a L494 RRS it looks exactly the same as mine .....which is a one piece hands free electric lift....
In fact the whole rear of the car is following the current JLR design trend with the same shaped rear lights and the same shape bumper and infill....
Think RRS / DS but with a larger and squarer boot.....!
