The boot area looks tight. The rear window is really small. It really looks like a Ford Explorer even the end of the rear window which meets the tail gate is like the Explorer not the Discovery. The Ford Explorer meets the Range Rover sport mix.D3 2005 V8 SE Bonatti Grey "The Rhino" (our NYC D3)

Looking at this picture and the line where the rear row of seats fold, the rear boot space looks bigger than the current D4MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

They have also retained the three sunroofs as well looking at the picture. The metal clips now appear to be in the backs of row three seats instead of row two as well.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

It doesn't look like the roof slopes off to the rear as drastically as I thought it would which is a good thing. It does taper down but not drastically MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

I'm just glad they've got the floor flat when seats are dropped. The RRS2 and DS don't and it is a serious limitation to practicality. My RRS is often used to take two bulk bags of garden waste to the tip. Not something one could do so easily with RRS2. At least D5 has kept this practical element.
As someone who doesn't have a split tailgate (do have the openable glass hatch which is rarely used), the lack of same of D5 is less troubling than many hereabouts. I'd like to replace the RRS with either Disco or FFRR at some point. FFRR doesn't do a flat floor either so...Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

In comparison with the D3 & 4's "roominess & airiness"; the way the D5 roofline and rear body tapers away at the back, I reckon the view through the rearview mirror will be just like staring down a blocked filler funnel.
Add a dark interior, an assortment of human adult heads [some with big hair], a pooch and you'll be struggling to catch a glimer of light in that rearview mirror.
['staring into a black hole' was a feeling I experienced recently when I had a dark interiored DS on loan recently .... and that was without additional heads]

Look after your D3s and D4s because it looks like we're not getting another.
