Quite sad to see the nice v8 go.
But.. not all is lost. Maybe it's europe-wise, but they did not say anything about the 4-litre V6, and..
in Switzerland, and USA the V8 will still be sold, so, it would be a question of importing them back. And some really nice demonstrators retail for around 30,000-40,000 euro so that's a lot less than what you would be billed for a an ex-demo around here.
It's odd, because in the Paris auto show one sales rep told me that more V8s are sold in Paris than diesels... Maybe because they run on LPG? Don't know.Regards, Robert

It's our own fault. My D2 was a V8, but no one wants V8s second hand, it seems, so people tend to avoid buying them new. And I'm one of those people. Having said that, the TDV6 outperforms the old Rover V8 in all areas, and I wasn't looking for a sporty vehicle, but I happened to ask the dealer when I picked mine up last year how many V8s they'd sold and she said 'none' in that period (the rush after the introduction of the 56 plates). In fact, even back then, you could only get a V8 D3 on 'factory order'. Same for the NA RRS, although they'd shifted their entire quota of Supercharged RRS and FFRR months ahead of the end of the year.
