Yes if you have the 6cd changer then you have the optics, you need a Y peice to connect it in to the system, contact Wiggs site sponsor on here, he should have the cables you need.

I’m very interested in doing this also but I have a base spec head unit. I’ve read on here that if I get a Range Rover sport mid line head unit and swap the front for a D3 panel as they are slightly different it should work?? So apart from the head unit and screen. What else do I need to get sat nav and a rear view camera working in a 2008 GS that has a big hole where the sat nav should go and a basic head unit??

Cheers
Nick

Hi.. Have done this great mod and everything works.. Ish.. Does anyone else have issues with the navigation 'wandering' as though it loses GPS and doesn't quite follow the road correctly....very annoying!

Just a little bump....doe sanyone else have the issue regarding the navigation losing track and 'wandering' off the road?
Its almost as if it loses gps signal and doesnt know where it is in relation to the map?
Is this a gps issue or maybe a speed sensor issue?
I am tapped into the connection block at the navigation unit under seat in my D3 and speed sensor at the connector block in passenger footwell.
I have considered buying a generic gps sensor of the 'bay and trying that...Any ideas or suggestions would be gratefully received!

Very difficult the satnav need a gps aerial and road signal and will need fiber optic cables running basically u need a loom in my opinion not worth it as the nav is crap compared to waze or tom tom do a search there are people who have a small iPad sort of thing that fits in there nicely

I've retrofitted the d3 nav, wasn't terribly difficult but the high line unit was already fitted.
I wouldn't bother from scratch.
There are stand alone direct fit after market ones on eBay.probably your best bet.

Im wondering on buying a D4 satnav MY10-12 from UK. Are the maps for Europe, or only the UK?

In other words will it contain maps for Norway?
