I usually have NTB do my tire stuff (they’re fast when 2 or 3 guys are working on each vehicle!) but when picking up my spare rim this afternoon at the dealer their service department was dead today and ‘no waiting’-
Get this… Not a single LR3 in the garage! heh heh heh!
When I opened up the hatch there was a collective GASP and Holy Shiits all around!! “No way those things are gonna go on that thing!â€
I think someone started a pool. ;D
The Service Manager and Parts Manager are both serious off-roaders and they both already knew the tire and liked the tire and were absolutely stoked that I was putting them on my truck. Im glad to have the added sidewall to protect the bead, and these do have a bead protector. And since they are off road tires Im sure the sidewall has a lot more protection than the stock tires. These guys said to run them at 15psi off road.
They do indeed fit. And fit nicely. They fill up the wheel well and look a LOT better on the truck the than the Wranglers.
Spare was filled to 5psi to hold the bead on the rim and is indeed a VERY tight fit. It does fit, it just takes a few selective kicks to get it up on the rubber bumpers in the well.
Airing it down was an awesome idea Nomad- kudos!
No noticeable rubbing in any mode. At least not so far. Im running 35psi.
Noise wise- It ain’t a street tire, but its also not a Super Swamper. On the highway it’s a slight high pitched whine… Not near a rumble, just a quiet weeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
To the people who think the Wrangler is noisy and can’t handle any tire noise whatsoever then these aren’t for you. Again, its not a street tire designed for quiet ride but its not that bad.
Ride wise- maybe a little ‘stiffer’

Tim, what is the road noise like on flat tarmac at over 50mph. Also are they fully clear on access mode and full lock?
Did you have to reset the 'change of tyre' setting on the dash for the speedometer as they are bigger than the Wranglers ?
Would be interested to find out if they pick up and throw stones on the highway

A handful of people have been running these things for up to a month without any problems…
Long road trips and also off road driving.
No problems reported except one person reported minor rubbing on one tire in one place, but not an issue. They are so tight in the wheel well Im shocked they don’t rub in any of the ride heights.
They are a little noisier. Not bad, but noticeable. If you can’t stand tire noise, they are not for you.
The Terra Grappler has a very good reputation in the woods. Everyone Ive talked to said it’s a great off road tire. Yeah, its not as knobby like a Super Swamper, but it’s a helluva lot better than the Badyears.
Ive not messed with the calibrations yet. If all it does is make my speedo read slower, Im not gonna change it. big deal.
Not that Im vain, but they do look damn good on the truck. They fill up the holes very nicely. It’s the size tire the truck should have had from the beginning!Wa Hoo

Tim?gareth, I like the tyres, I am trying to find out if they are EC approved and they don't appear on our EC lists.
Re the reset, it is in the dashboard settings control, press the usual knob and follow the directions through.

The tread should kick butt off road but Im just as happy having the added sidewall for daily driving conditions... Road debris and curb hopping in particular.
Honestly everyone, this is the size tire the truck SHOULD have come with. It works good and it looks so much better in the wheel well.
My odo is 4% off and until I recalibrated the NAV it was funny watching it try to figure out where I was. It had no clue. lol. After re-calb the NAV was cool.
NAV recalibration did not change odometer/speedo. Still 4% off. US Spec does not have 'settings' recalibration... we only have it on the NAV and it didn't 'fix' the odo/speedo. Im sure the dealer could do it with the Test Book if I wanted to, but I could care less about 4%.
I drove 180 miles out and 180 miles back this weekend and mileage was same (using actual gallons used versus miles and adding 4%)
I swear the truck 'likes' to go faster. I had a 'sweet spot' of 90mph and now the sweet spot is 95... plus 4% equals 99.
Don't flame me to slow down, just get out of my way.
Regarding any added tire noise.. Im over it. I don't hear the very slight increase anymore.Wa Hoo

As a matter of fact, just this past Saturday.... I couldn't tell if it was the truck or the tires but my buddy in the D1 couldn't keep up on the Forest Service roads we were on, I kept having to stop and wait for him to catch up.

I was pointed in this direction from the Forum I am on in Australia. I see you have the same landy as myself. Now I maybe asking the obvious, but did yours come with 19inch rims with 255/55/R19's and that you have now put on 18inch rims with Nitto Terra Grapler 285/60/18's?? I am facing a situation whereby I cannot get AT's for my current rim and am looking at the prospect to changing rim size and wasnt sure as to whether 18's would fit on the HSE V8. Assuming we had the same initial set up, it would seem it would. If you can confirm, that would be great,
