Interesting point about the mandatory nature of cycle paths. Usually they are marked by a circular blue sign. A circular sign is an instruction, whereas a triangular sign is a warning. However, if the cycle lanes are anything like those round here, where the council has just put some white lines down to split the pavement, I wouldn't blame him for using the road instead. I've had near misses with numerous drivers backing out of their drive and crossing the cycle path as if I wasn't there.
No winners on the video though. If we take it on face value, i.e. No prior incidents, the cyclist looses the moral high ground almost as soon as he opens his mouth. Land Rover driver overtakes on a mini island as well. There are two rules for success,

"A Scotland Yard spokesman today said: "Officers from the Putney Safer Neighbourhood Team are investigating an incident which took place on 14 March near Priory Lane, SW5 involving a cyclist and the driver of a vehicle.
"On May 14 a 50-year old man voluntarily attended a south London police station where he was interviewed in connection with the incident."
