We took the now defunct Newcastle ferry to Stavanger and then drove a big loop, getting as far south as Kristiansand and as far north as Jostedalsbreen, which is the glacier shown in the pic. above, before returning to Bergen.

Couple of pics from today. Breakie stop about 1hr W of Copenhagen:
Can't believe how good and quiet the Danish motorway system was, thought it was a Sunday!!
Stopping here tonight. Regular parking stop by a lake about a couple of hours south of Sundsvall. Not sure if I can stick up the oztent, will prob just campervan it.
Heading up the E4 (bi passed Stockhom) up to Ornskoldsvik then in to Arjeplog and Norway. Gearbox has started shuddering slightly, hills & mountains could be interesting!!

I apologise for my ignorance upfront... but will you be north enough to potetially see the Northern lights ?
Yes but 6 months ago, now daylight up there 24/7 so no change even if they are "on".

Out of interest, how many mailes a day you planning and how long will it take you to get up there?
Cheers
Should be 5,500 miles, 3 days longhaulling front, 4 at back and 12 days bimbling/slobbing (depends on how I feel).

Be sure to give those hiking boots a good workout. Maybe a few miles on the Kungsleden?
Enjoy your trip and stay safe.
Boots are in there for scale.

Rat packs are a thing of the past, got a crate full of Tesco curries & packs of rice. The frying pad also toasts the nans, will see how coriander & crumpets combo tastes tomorrow morning.

Tent is up, fire if doing its thing nicely, I just hope that cuckoo shuts up at bed time. I come 2,000 miles, inside the Arctic Circle and I hear a cuckoo before I do in Surrey!!!!! Next on the list is get a brew on.

Looks stunning, I hope you are having a fantastic time.
I had best not mention I'm rather sunburnt following a few nice warm but windy days in Cornwall. I am sure all of your gear will keep you warm and I would much sooner be there than here!Andy
