Re: LR013487 - TDV6 Oil Pump

May or may not be common knowledge, but here it is
The recent price rise of the oil pump has been a sore increase, especially with the amount of them been replaced recently. There are aftermarket pumps available, but I have had a few issues with them, so went back to genuine pumps
JLR retail price of £201 + VAT
I have a Citroen main dealer at the bottom of the road, so I ordered in a pump to compare, on the understanding it can be returned if it didn't fit
EXACTLY the same pump, with FoMoCo stamped into it, with the same part number
Retail price of £103.95 + VAT
The dealer did mention that was the first one they had ever ordered in. Ever
Apolgies for newbee question but in what Citroen's do they use this engine ?

Actually it would probably be safer to buy the seal from Land Rover.
I don't know if there is any difference, but I do have a slight leak from mine. Nothing serious and it may be because the engine is slightly over serviced with oil. I don't have time at the moment to do a proper investigation.Simon.

May I suggest you contact Disco_Mikey as he is on the ball with pumps and seals. He can probably supply you with the correct parts far cheaper than going to LR.
That's my suggestion, for what it's worth. 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE

I'll offer my take on this, for what it's worth ......I was concerned about this stage of the job, lets face it,who would want to take it all apart again to change a leaking crank seal Rather than buy the extortionate LR seal installation tools, I bought a Victor Reinz crank seal (from AF), which comes with a plastic cone to assist in getting the seal on the crankshaft without damaging it, although I used it with a genuine LR SEAL. Also I made the tool at the bottom ( out of a scrap RB211 LP Fuel pipe ) to push the seal into place exactly 1mm recessed into the oil pump case, using a big washer and the old crank pulley bolt. Don't get any oil near any part of the seal, it must be fitted totally dry, and keep it square as you install it.
D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.
and if you are in Australia, the Ford part number for this item is 4R8Z 6600 AF, and it will cost around $130, which is about 75 GBP at todays post-Brexit rate.
The TDV6 engine is used in the Ford Territory.
So for once, just once, a genuine landrover part is cheaper in Australia than in the UK.

I tried my local Ford dealer, and they could not match that part number (or the older ones) to anything My D3 Build Thread
