You're very welcome tintenter as it was all your work and advice after all. My van build starts on 25th April so just about at shrill level now. Thumbs Up

Well I had a change of heart regarding the reversing camera after hitting the very rear end of my van on a pub sign. Only just touched it but ruined the sign and cost me £500 to repair my van Censored . Not a happy bunny until my wife referred to me as Mr Magoo, that broke the ice. Rolling with laughter
I've decided to use my existing set up as a hitching cam and invest in the Omni Vue system which gives a 360 view of the van at all times from above plus a choice of view in addition (front, rear, left or right). Silly money for what just an ECU which stitches the images together at the corners but may save me doing something like this to the new van.

United Kingdom 2016 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 Graphite LE Auto Corris GreyDiscovery 4

Picking up from Tintenter's post of 11th Jan, and using his list of components, does this work (or is it what was intended from the outset)?

• Caravan camera live – picked up from pin 10 of 13 pin caravan plug
• Caravan camera earth – picked up from pin 3 of 13 pin caravan plug
• Caravan camera video source – connected to (spare) pin 12 on 13 pin caravan plug

(i.e. caravan camera is permanently on when the caravan is connected to the vehicle and ignition is on)

• Default video input of switcher box taken from car reverse camera
• Switched video input of switcher box taken from pin 12 of 13 pin trailer socket
• 12v to switcher box taken from fused 12v supply toggled from a point adjacent to driver (e.g. on centre console somewhere)

(i.e. vehicle screen shows caravan camera output at any time 12v live is sent to switcher box by driver, otherwise, infotainment operates normally until car reverses triggering the car reverse camera).

I guess the most time consuming part of the job would be routing the switched live from the centre console area through to the switcher box located in the headlining above the rear door.
