Sorry Jim, mines a hitachi. Try calling MJ Rolls in Bourne, they are normally quite useful.

I can't get this pipe off the compressor The collar depresses, it even spins, but I can't get the pipe out!!!! Could this mean that this side of the system is still under pressure?? It's gone 1am, I don't want to be beneath my car any more tonight!!!

I had the same problem at about the same time of night!
Choice I had - not get the pipe off, but bust the final static nut holding the compressor on.
So be left with a half attached compressor. Sprayed the entire area with WD40 and emery clothed the brass fitting a little.
Next I did the same thing, slept on it.
Got up the next day made a cup of tea.
Decided to crack the final holding support bolt off - the difficult one at the back!
Supported the compressor, got all the other connections off .
Gently let the compressor swing down, then placed a small spanner over the fitting on the compressor and gently tapped it with a hammer - it came off easy as. It doesn't need to move much, about 3-5mm in towards the compressor body then it will release the pipe.
I think the reason is you need to do both things compress the brass ring and gently pull the hose at the same time. This can be difficult to achieve laying under the car on a driveway with the compressor in situ.
You probably know the other small connector comes off in the same manner.
I think they are called Voss connectors.

Going back to the amber warning light, I had this and immediately thought " oh no, new compressor", however, working on the theory that 'if it's there it should be used' I started up the engine and kept working through from 'off road height' to 'access height' and so far all is well. I also have started to select low range on a regular basis using the same principle. I have to add that in this case the amber warning light came on after apprx half a mile of driving and would only go off after switching off. So maybe my symptoms could be slightly different. Still, so far so good. 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE

That's a real pain - sorry.
Don't be tempted to cut it though as I believe there is a little collet that strengthens the pipe to provide a purchase with the coupling.
You could try hitting the spanner harder?
Sorry I'm not helping much - good luck.

I cut it!!! Simply ran out of tools to hit it with!!
The end was stuck fast, and I couldn't get it out even with the unit sat on my kitchen table! It's out now, but it wasn't pretty!
I've stripped the compressor apart but there's a suspicious electrical burning smell… (could explain why the end of that pipe was welded in!) this compressor may have bitten the dust. I'll give it a service, put it back together and run a bench test.

Compressor back on… doesn't appear to do a thing! Car starts, 30 seconds later: 'suspension fault'. It doesn't sound like the compressor is even trying. I didn't run a bench test because I couldn't find any suitable leads. So now I could really do with some suggestions of what to do next?? The car is sat on bump stops because some wally didn't think before he started playing with the ride height switch and now I can't go anywhere!! Help!!
