Mr Bling's D3 for sale! PICTURES ADDED
I have finally got so completely fed-up with being clobbered by this bloody government for the car I choose to drive that I've decided to sell the D3.
The most shocking thing is to find how badly it has depreciated in 2 years. Aparently it now "books" at around £19-20k (this doesn't include the extras I've added). I blame this partly on the government's anti-4x4 stance which has made our cars about as popular as a Lada to used-car buyers!
I am therefore offering my car for sale at £21k.

Sorry to hear this Mr B
Another victory for the hysterical environmentalists, and the government who cynically jump on their bandwaggon and use it as an excuse to raise everyones taxes.
Good luck

Just to show you how different our two countries can be on certain subjects, Mr. Bush a few years ago actually wrote into law tax breaks to purchase SUV's. 2007 LR3 HSE - Zermatt Silver

Sorry to hear you will be selling your D3.
I agree.....it's very sad that you've been 'forced' into this situation and now have to consider selling it....
I also think that rear screens were/are fantastic..... 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG
As it's an 05 it falls into band F, rather than the new band G they are using to clobber newer cars. Is it just the threat of higher taxes being applied retrospectively or has something specific forced this on you? Don't know what you're planning to get to replace it, but it's going to struggle to match your D3. Seems a shame to take such a hit on depreciation when you have a good car there too.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Even for my Band G car, I work on the premise that a semi reasonable level of car tax would be about £250, so the additional £150 is 41p/day. Even if it was £500, that's only 68p, not even the price of a chocie bar & can of Coke. The car gets used daily so in my mind tha's areasonable way of looking at it. Besides, with offroading Sat and Sun, I got my 82p's worth last weekend!
Lucky you! I just paid my Road Tax its based on engine size here 1,033 Euro for 12 months! Googsy

Ah they need to charge you more to pay for propping up the island due to all the LR parts that have been shipped that way!

new tax is from 31/3/06 and is only an extra £100 it would be better to pay that than lose what you like.
i think the tax sucks anyway,it should be done on petrol so people who use more pay more.
we have a diesel corsa that does about 60 mpg but still have to pay£125 a year not much of a saving for a green rated car 122 c/o rating

I have a 1966 2a, that does 15mpg, and costs -32p to tax. I can apply on-line and the government have to pay the stamp to post it to me
I love getting something, no matter how small, out of this rotten government.
