Make sure you get the filler plug off before you drain it!
Then would recommend a big syringe and pipe to fill it as its a bit awkward.

Machine Mart do a very good syringe, which works perfectly Thumbs Up

On mine, the filler is about an 8mm allen key - I have a impact driver with a bit that fits perfectly and just use the holder on my socket wrench.

cheers chaps

how easy are the drain & fill plugs to locate? I pressume the drain is at the bottom of the transfer box, is the fill plug easy to spot while lying on your back under the car

I used a large syringe from E-Bay and a short length of propane hose.

Was easy (even for me)
(Remap, EGRs Blanked,Silicon I/C hose) from BAS, (Torque Convertor, Compressor, FL Wishbones, Alternator) by WD, Belts by Newbury4x4, Megaflush+extra cooler by GRGB, Diff+Transfer oils, ARB Bushes, Fuel filter, Fixed Towbar, Remote FBH.

The 'z' is silent

I think I have been lazy and got a local indy do to mine. Did the transfer box and also the front and back diff oils at the same time. Cost £150 but worth the peace of mind as I cant see when they were done last. The colour of the oil that came out suggested that it was Ok anyway but glad I did it. Think it was expensiev as they mentioned it was synthetic oils etc etc

I think it's 1.51L of oil. But basically fill to plug. Thumbs Up

Gents,

My transfer box (2005 Auto HSE) doesn't look like this - the fill plug seems much lower - does anyone know where the correct fill plug is on these earlier models? I drained 1.5l out, but can only get 300ml back in through this lower fill plug.

Cheers

Simon

Hmmm, my 05 HSE looks like the picture; well apart from the grime.

As the guys have said, it is a 'fill to spill' and should take 1.5L for either a wet or dry fill according to the book.
