So finally it worked with the D4 without preinstalled fuse and harness??
If so, would it be possible to write a list what has to be done?
This would help a lot!

Been away for a while. Nobody got this working?
Maybe Vera and Christian should have a go - they love a challenge and Christian has a D4 now...
The adaptive cruise is an option for the 3.0 V6 supercharged PETROL engine - i.e. not the UK market as I have just discovered, ironically. Tried to spec it on my order just now. Have got the in control apps just to see what all the fuss is about though

So here are my thoughts after getting it recognised on a MY15 D4 I had a for a few months earlier this year.
I think its just firmware so what we need to do is install the kit on a fellow members car and somehow get Pat @GAP to record all the messages and work out what is calling what.
RATA1 and I had this conversation a few months back so its nothing new
So any members local to Hampshire who would be happy for me to install adaptive cruise and program this onto their MY15 +D4 then let me know and we'll get Pat @GAP on board and give it a go.
Its the only reason I'm looking at later D4's - if I can get it working on mine i'll save 0000's

Hi Nick,
I might be up for this. Have the switch pack, radar and mounting plate for my 2016 Landmark.
Hadn't got around to it yet as life and other projects have got in the way.
I'm in Camberley, Surrey so not too far.

Great Peter
that's even better as it can stay on your car once testing complete.
I've mailed Pat to see what he needs. Do you have an IID tool to code the tool in?
Would be happy help you install even if Pat can't help - i've taken front bumper off a few times on mine now for various mods

You could still sniff the bus and there are Linux tools to highlight packets that change when things are pressed or activated.
It would be a start if you did it before the ACC was fitted on the 2015 and did it again after following the same data gathering drive.
If you knew the address of the radar I suppose you could figure out what it was talking to and how that device responded and compare with a <2015 vehicle.
I thought about doing this earlier this year, but without anyone onboard to give the findings to, that could either code it in to what I have or reverse engineer it I didn't bother. I got a similar response from Pat.
Just because it wasn't an option on the D4 for those years doesn't necessarily mean it isn't there. The D4 shares a lot of components with vehicles of the same year that had it so I still think it was a "let's leave it out because <cost>**" type decision and I doubt very much it was a new development for a car in 2015 that was already due to be replaced. Why spend thousands of R&D money on something at the end of its life with a replacement ready to launch? Seems to me (correct me if I am wrong) that the 2014 Face Lift is the same as the last one in 2016 apart from an engine/ad blue, screen layout and rear AC delete.
The CAN bus thing I was looking at was a Korlan USB2CAN if anyone is interested. Looked OK for the money.
I bought a car (not LR) a few years ago from a guy that hacked ECUs for tuning companies so do-able.
There are for obvious reasons some secrecy/security around this stuff but you just have to look at some great work on here to know stuff is possible. The digital dash wasn't an option on the D4 but it is working with some determination and great skills from those that know this stuff.
Guess we have to wait for them to want ACC on their car In today's world, if you contribute something, you don't contribute enough. If you contribute nothing, you receive everything.

Anyone know if it is possible to flash these with a nanocom? It seems like it supports ECU flashing and lists the part numbers but every post on here seems to suggest you need a IDD/GAP tool.
Thanks

finally had time to finish this off over last couple of days. Works the charm and I love alert when coming to traffic lights or roundabout slowing down to 20 mph
Missus loves it as well. Best mod ever.

Yes, well done to be able to do this is the only reason I would change my MY14 HSE Luxury facelift model and yet I know several Disco owners who don’t even use basic CC, It was a big let down for me not being able to fit it.
As all the ACC steering wheels seem to come from RRSports is ACC fitted to RRSports as standard equipment? It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
