Have to concur with the thoughts on Bruce Lynton here on the Coast - very professional.
We did have a few issues with sorting out the corporate servicing plan which meant my first attempt at the service was incomplete but they did sort these out and they gave me the new diesel Freelander as a loaner - no danger of me downsizing, the experience made me appreciate the space and driving dynamics of my Disco even more

Interesting so far both Aussie D3 and UK D3 owners rate LR dealers at 41% each for poor or minimum service standards!
Out of 698 people to look at this thread only 37 have voted (just over 5%). So either a few people are VERY interested in the poll and keep coming back every day to see what it is now or 95% of D3 owners either don't want to comment/can't be bothered or don't understand the question/never had a service regards
Peter

II find it interesting that few have been really unhappy with their dealer.
I think those who said minimum expectations met could either be satisfied with no problems or have a dealer with a poor attitude.
Minimum expectations could be read as satisfactory by some.
The way the question has been asked is there are six options of satisfaction..............lets say
1.
2.
3.
this is above average
4.
5.
6.
This is below average
It is difficult to know what anyone may understand what minimum requirement means as it will mean different things to different people.
For those who voted 'met minimun requirement' what did you mean by this?
Interesting poll though. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

CaverD3,
Exactly. Subjective feelings are what matter, as it is how each customer FEELS they have been treated NOT neccessarily how they HAVE been treated that matters. Regardless of how the dealer feels they have dealt with the matter it is HOW the CUSTOMER feels htey have been dealt with the counts.
So, sure my expectations might be high and the dealer only just meets what I consider to be the minimum I would accept whereas someone else (who receives exactly the same treatment as I do) might rate them good because their previous experiences elswhere were so bad!
Of course there are extremes at either end with some customers never being satisfied by whatever a dealer does and some customers very happy to pay for poor qualtiy parts and workmanship for whatever reason.
I am also interested in the 'human' nature of the poll as to why so many people look at it but do not vote? It's not exactly a confusing title, so one would think that people did not need to open the thread to see what it was about. And if people are that interested in what it is about and open it then why not do one more click and vote on their experience?
5% here and 10% in the UK of people who looked have voted. Lots of intriguing whys and wherefore come to mind (maybe have to much time on my hands and need to get out and drive more!!).
addit: Also very interesting that only 5% sit on the fence if you like with the 'meet minimum expectations' question and most people are polarised on either side. UK experience is a bit different. regards
Peter

How is this for after sales service. Recently the purchaser of a RR Sport took his vehicle out on the sand with the whole family in the vehicle. He got bogged and could not get the vehicle out. He rang the sales manager at Purnell Bros Sydney and the manager drove out and pulled him out. Good work you may say, but it was 10pm at night (very dark in Ozz at that time) needless to say the Sales Manager was not impressed that the vehicle was taken out at night and with no other vehicle and no recovery gear. Looks like some training is in order here!! Take the road less traveled. Dual battery system.ORS drawers,LR cargo Barrier.ARB Bull bar, side protection bars,Mickey Thompson ATR's 17" rims, Rear wheel carrier, radiator guard TPMS Mitchell Bros Tow Hitch LR RAI Steel Rims , GME UHF, Off Road GPS, Llams (yet to be fitted)

OK here is my six peneth worth, my dealers team are plesent and try to be as helpfull as possible, but I suspect like most buisnesses it is ni on impossible to get staff, they also deal with at least two other brands as well, they alwayse seem to have a full workshop which means for serviceing bookings have to be made well in advavce but that is ok, The way it took so long to do my steering and suspension disapointed me but I think they finally may have it fixed.......I hope

Very Happy with LR dealer in Port Melb Vic. |
|
Peter Smeig and ? Pearce, the boss in servcie, are great guys and really know their stuff. Never been a problem with anythig except tyre wear on the OE Googyear Wranglers however they have been help full, esp Peter, in trying to gete resolution. Have just changed over to Cooper HT+ (see seperate thread) with the help of guys in this site. Peter has saved me a lot of money with an wheel alignment comment of his which will save me from an impropper alignemnt from a tyre dealer. See other thread for full details.
Cheers

New dealer or just mislaid the old one? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I was very happy with my dealer in Clearwater (Florida). Will be making my first visit to new dealer in Richmond (VA) for service soon. I hope they are good - although when we asked about a loner car when mine is in service, they said no 'Since I didn't purchase the auto from them.' WTF?? I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?

Yip. As per the other post, Johnathan at Barbagallo's was an absolute pleasure to deal with.
My first service in Aussie Land, and it was great.
Surely miss the guys at LR Bedfordview in RSA, but now not as much anymore. Why is the fear of long words called hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia?

I can highly recommend Rob Carrington in sales; great customer attitude, loves his product, wont BS you, and will look after you long after the sale! I've had to go back to Rob on a couple of things and he looked after everything.
Fred the LR service manager knows his product & explains any issues. He's prepared to listen as well, so we've had a few healthy debates!! Between Fred and his colleague David, I feel looked after pretty well.
Vic
i agree totally with Vic ... same mob (actually same sales guy too)
fred in service is great. i have dealt with fred pretty soon after delivery - especially through suspension fault dramas. always co-operative and open-minded with the issues and resolution.
