Well the Leeds Bradford cycle superhighway is 14 miles long, cost £29million as part of the £60 million Cityconnect programme. After the first 2 years they proudly announced 700,000 cycle trips had been made on it.

Cost benefit calculation?

About £45 a journy, similar thing here goodness knows how much spent on cycle paths beside a busy main road, only ones you see using it are kids and families, most cyclists prefer to mix it with traffic doing 60mph.

DPD, not only did they manage to not delivery an Amazon Prime parcel on Sunday as there was no one in on the farm, well apart from the 11 of us, they then delivered it the following day, one box was all parcel taped up and half the order missing. Useless beggers.

The DPD driver who usually delivers to us is called Alex and, in any case, the driver's name is on their app. I always refer to him by name when I speak to him - that way, he knows that I know he knows I know his name and can use it to complain if there is a Censored -up.

To be fair to the couriers it is not always their fault. Some companies/people do not know how to pack goods ready for transportation.

Amazon are prime culprits in not packing things correctly. They use thin wall boxes, oversized for contents with the minimum of packing material inside. The chances of such boxes going through courier system without damage is low. Decent triple wall boxes cost decent money. Packing items corectly takes time, which is money.

Today one of the couriers had an Amazon box which was originally full of stationary which was now scattered around back of the van. Reason, poor quality box and bad packing.

...people who think that speed limits don't apply early in the morning.

I've started commuting from Littlehampton to Stevenage (I need a more local job if anyone knows of one!), which involves leaving at 05:00. The route includes quite a few villages with limits of 30 / 40 mph and sections of single-carriageway country roads at 50 mph. If I stick to these I get overtaken - not just occasionally but every flippin' day.

OK, so the chances of getting caught at that time of day are very low but the law is still the law - isn't it? FFS, why don't these people just get up five minutes earlier?!

When the BBC moved large chunks of itself to Salford Quays, I'd hoped the webpages for our local news would get a bit more attention.

Not only has that NOT happened, they've become shockingly lazy about keeping it updated and tidy. Here's a screenshot from earlier today.

Goat getting...

People who rush to pull out in front of you on the road, only to drive well below the speed limit and slower than you were going before they pulled out.

If you're in a rush to get out in front of me, then get on with driving away in front of me. If I have to brake to avoid hitting you and then need to overtake you to maintain my own progress, then please just pull over and drop dead. You Censored

eBay sellers who:

a) Want £60 to post things first class, and/or
b) Mark items 'dispatched' just because they've got a tracking number from the Royal Mail's website.

Apparently it’s racist to name a dark chocolate duck ‘Ugly’ but probably would’ve been acceptable if the milk or white chocolate ones were named ‘Ugly’

Censored the permanently offended who complain at every aspect of society that doesn't fit their narrative.

I bet it wasn't a black person (sorry, 'member of the black community) who complained.

At a pet-show, my daughter was once rebuked for having a rabbit called 'Sooty'. A black chap subsequently approached her and told her the [white] complainer wasn't speaking for him, or, most likely, any of his family: with another rabbit named 'Sweep' in the next pen, the origin was obvious.

Non-BME people who make such complaints are effectively suggesting BME people are weak, pathetic and unable to stand up for themselves - very patronising.

I take the Censored out of a friend of mine as I do everyone else: because he's a Sikh, my children say doing so is racist, yet I have never taken the Censored about any characteristic related to him being Sikh.

That said, Hans Christian Anderson's ugly duckling only flourished when it turned white!

Anything can "offend" someone.

People just have to decide if the "offence" is serious enough to warrant comment. If every minor "offence" requires action then it just diminishes the true instances where bigotry actually exists.
