that needs seeing to - at least an xray. My eldest daughter broken a small bone in her foot playing netball, and it wasnt as swollen as that, so I'd think you have done some serious damage there

Get yourself down to A & E/Minor injuries unit. Am guessing if it is like that after a week it may require an X-Ray
Disclaimer, I have no medical training. Let the people who have the correct training/experience/equipment do their job and accurately assess state of play with that ankle.

Went home after rugby and went out for a meal hobbling, visited A&E had an xray and got told it's not broken and sent on my way!
Still can't walk properly on it but elevation etc is all I'm doing at the moment, and anti inflammatory's!

Go back to a&e. Without unduly worrying you, that should not be that bad after a couple of days. .

Absolutely - I broke an ankle years ago in a car crash, first visit to hospital via ambulance, not broken diagnosis, pain excruciating and swelling enormous, 2nd visit following day, definitely broke a bone, in plaster for 10 weeks. You really don’t want any further complications. Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

Just give her a snickers. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

PS +1 for a reassessment of that ankle. If I was presented with that I'd be sending you straight back to hospital for another look. D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

I’d suggest you go back for another visit to A+E as the second certainly looks like summat’s amiss. My daughter went over on her ankle when playing and, after a day of RICE, it was still swelling. She was taken to A+E and an x ray taken, checked and told it was a sprain and a tubigrip applied. Wee soul (she was about 8 at the time) soldiered on at school for a week but avoided PE. One week later a phone call was received telling us to take her down to the hospital again as the radiographer (radiologist?) had examined the x ray and her ankle was actually broken and she needed to be in a cast. HWMBO took her down and, as he went up to reception, there was a woman in a soft collar, saying she’d been called back because her x ray had been reviewed and she needed to be seen urgently!

It's not just a fracture to consider but the fact there could be no blood supply to the foot and a real possibility of sepsis which is s killer.
I just hope you are not still at home looking at it It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

That was sort of where I was hinting but didn't want to worry OP toooo much. Or is he planning to join the Paralympic rugby team ?
