DG will be along in a minute to helpfully explain how Land Rover simply can’t build enough of them and if you’re observing any kind of shortfall then it is, once again, simply reality that’s got it wrong!

Observation does support the idea that LR's target market has changed.
Yesterday at a Pony club competition in Surrey - about 35-40 D3' and D4's. About 10 defenders. About 25-30 varied other 4*4's . No d5's at all.d4 HSE

Odd isn't it ...I sat in a restaurant in a Surrey high street last night and saw at least a dozen in 90 minutes.
Comparing the spotting of older vehicles which sold hundreds of thousands over 14 plus years to a new vehicle on the road in the last 18 months is always going to throw up a distortion.

That’ll be that well dodgy Albanian car wash in Waitrose’s car part, stripping the paint off layer by layer.

Obviously had good company if you spent 90 minutes hanging out of the window .

Great company thanks.... however due to the magnificence of human evolution I am able to scan my surroundings and talk at the same time ....the window frontage is large and looks down over a busy crossroads ...we were sat in the window ...hey presto

I have no axe to grind on the D4 or D5 but what I do know is that living in one of the most popular spots in Surrey there are not many D5 running around. You can draw whatever conclusion you like of course.

"..My local dealer is offering me stupid discounts to buy one and that is not something I have seen since 2008..."
@2springers.
I have seen ONE on public road in the Netherlands ever since, not counting the ones used as demo around the dealers...
They've sold 143 in 2017, the first full year after the introduction. They sold 545 D3 in 2005, the year after the introduction.. .. in 2010 they sold 147 of the then new D4...
Looking at these figures , the D5 is in the midst of a crises..
How much discount is 'stupid' to you ; 25% like ???
