It's a little known fact that V8 owners can walk on water !
Try it and see - works for me 8)

Hello guys,
I've recently bought an '05 V8 SE. Another one still on the road! I'll post a pic once I've taken a good one in the daylight.
I'm only a few days into ownership but I'm really enjoying it. I'm planning on keeping this one for the foreseeable future. Such a relaxing car to drive. I'm looking to switch out the 20" wheels for some 18"s but can't decide which wheels to go for.

Welcome to the exclusive V8 petrol club!
You’ll mostly spend your time actually driving it so there’s not much to discuss. 8)
Every time someone reminds you “ooooh think of the bad mpg” just ask “yeah, how many liters can you get for the price of a new engine, turbo or intercooler?”.

Finally I got round to having replaced the front ARB links, front sway bar bushes, rear sway bar bushes, belts, new EPB module fitted (well that was costly at 720 for a genuine LR unit) front and rear rotors and pads (brembos all around), engine oil, oil filter, air filter, one rear parking sensor so finally it works!! and cross fitted the tyres after about 9k miles.
Car feels a lot more solid after especically new bushes, very very happy!
Oh also, T piece and the AC condenser were done about 4 months ago. Sooo i

With 95ron at £1.13 a ltr at a Jet garage near me, it's not such a ball ache at the moment.

I get that! So absolutely zero performance enhancements from using 98RON then? Ben

I only cruise around it mine so I wouldn't notice. I've ever only used 98 Ron in turbo cars as it reduces the chance of knocking05 V8 HSE Bonatti Grey

I was thinking of treating mine to some Vpower recently.
Had a stall (first and hopefully only) at the weekend as I stopped on a hill behind traffic. Fuel was low( but not yet on reserve). Started again on the "button" and no issues ticking over in D and hasn't done it since. Drove another 15miles or so before filling up
Cleaned the throttle body (havent done it for while) but this was pretty spotless.

I guess the 4.4 v8 was originally mapped by LR on 95ron fuel if no one's felt any difference between 95 and 98? And guess there's no self learning software in the ecu to increase ignition timing before knock / vice-versa?

“We” have used 95E10 (10% ethanol content) for years with no adverse effects. I’ve never filled my V8 with anything else. “98 RON” here is really 98E5 (5% ethanol content). I think they’re ending the sale of 98E5 since at some point in the near future due to lack of demand.
