Are you not allowed to let them off lead there, or is it just that you prefer not to ?

Both dogs like to chase deer and given distance from home using the 5m leads. They don’t seem to mind.
Very enjoyable 4 hour drive along the A100 to Spittal and then down the motorway to Bled. That drive down the A100 was really enjoyable - little traffic, mostly 55 mpg and no lorries to overtake. And only toll was 7euro for the Karawanken tunnel.
Nice to see temperature back above 20 degrees but rain forecast.
Walked part of lake and will do more over next 4 days.

Pitches small but site quiet. That said, it’s supposed to be full at weekend. The site is Camping Bled.2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

And heading south always helps, it’s downhill on the map.

Two views of the pitch. Site is undergoing a lot of improvements to put hard standing and new grass (when it grows) in place. Do a bit desolate but facilities good and location very good.

Just realised I forgot to stop and buy vignette for the Austrian and Slovenian motorways on way here this morning. Aim to buy tomorrow to show intent when fine arrives or we get stopped when leaving country.2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Bought both vignette this morning with period long enough to cover yesterday. Argue our case if necessary.2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Glad we took in some great views yesterday as today has been almost continuous heavy rain. The old pitches on the site are muddy, so glad we chose the newly laid hard standing. Looks like more rain tomorrow but brighter on Sunday.2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Just remember a bad day on road trip is better than a good day in the office.

So right Del, but now I have retired from office life I just think “what the heck, there will be another dry sunny day along soon and I won’t be working in an office when it arrives”. 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Yesterday’s weather was better than expected with little rain, so walked a full circuit of lake, stopping for coffee and beer on the way. Friends that are back-packing / inter rail aroundp Europe happened to be here at same time, so met them for drinks and meal in campsite restaurant - my pizza was very good.
Planning to walk up to a viewpoint of the lake as the weather is good for today.2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Nice walk up to a viewpoint above the campsite. As usual the map provided and signs on the trees and sign boards were all at odds with each other. Sun and glimpses of lake got us to roughly the right place and the correct track back.

Stopped at the bar next to the rowing centre to try the cream cake that the lake is famous for. It was better than I expected - fridge cold and more like custard with cream on top.
