Tucked up in the Scandic in Skelleftea, free night due to points accumulated.
Dinner digesting nicely, luckily thereās a Max just across the road.
Will post pics in blocks, poor camera was working its socks off today.

View from the outermost gun position, towards where I camped. This looks like a smaller gun than the other two positions. These were guns originally destined for a battleship that wasn't built, one was lost with the ship transporting it.
Postie might get shot at delivering there!!
Mount for the gun, or maybe a sighting rig??
Inside the cupola in the pic way above
General pics inside the bunker, done by torch. At last I have a reason to carry a torch to the Arctic in mid summer!!
The first of the 3 big gun mounts
The most intact bunker that is now a museum
Ammunition ātrainā cart, these were piggin big shells
I thought this was a light but itās opaque where a lens would be so some kind of radar?
The last gun position before I headed off.
Looks like some kind of exhaust, generator site?
Structure built into the hillside
And the last block. I thought this was an exhaust again but itās solid iron.
Pipe work inside
And remains of a defensive cupola, with strakes for barbed wire.

Looks like a searchlight to me. I would imagine that is the parabolic dish - so the bottom - from where the light is reflected upward.
WWII radars looked a bit different - square array, antenna masts or parabolic dishes (like a satellite receiver)

Assuming WWII, I donāt think active IR existed in large scale but Iām really not an expert on this. I know very special forces (US, German) has sniper rifles with some kind of [active] IR systems but they were fairly large and obvious to carry around. Also panzer troops had some close to the end of the war but in very limited amounts.
A picture of the other side could have helped. Assuming that is the parabolic reflector the other side should either have a flat glass surface or a flat cover to protect the glass when not operational.
I must say ze Germans were quite the busy bees building that stuff back then. Also, I didnāt realize the turrets were of that size from pictures earlier in books.

SWEEEEEET little reindeer!! Although they are cute, Iām glad thatās it for them as they are a PITA when you go round a bend at 60mph and they are just standing in the middle of the road!!

Bit of a wait for convoy van, but wasnāt that long.
Now the dilemma, there was me plus 2 cars behind me, is that lots? Should I have waited for a bigger crowd?
