Now that D3's have been around a bit, I thought it would be interesting to see what sort of mileages people are doing and what problems have people had?
To start the ball rolling, mine is registered September 2006, I have just hit 27,000 miles and apart from having to have a four wheel alignment done after totally scrubbing the inside of all the 295/45/20's (now that will be an expensive replacement due to me not checking the inside wear carefully enough) I have had not one problem with it - where's the wood to touch quickly!Wish I had a D3, but at least I now have a Landie - YIPEE

33k miles in nearly 14 months
Knackered front differential and rear wheel bearing, no loss of perma-
Just to add that mine does have a fairly hard life - carries 4 kids, the wife and a border collie regularly, also takes 1/2 ton of cardboard cloth rolling boards with ease regularly and is also regularly thrashed by other members of my staff on the motorway - just warned one guy that the Garmin Nuvi does record max speed and last time he took it out it clocked 96.5mph - not fast really, but just think about the mpg at that speed!
All that siad and having had over a dozen different Land Rovers now, the D3 is the best all rounder I have had.Wish I had a D3, but at least I now have a Landie - YIPEE
2k in five weeks, things just starting to go wrong, see sticking clutch but not broken down yet

33 Months
52K
Seal in the AirCon
2 Compressors
2 Expansion tanks
1 drivers door seal
1 Ball Joint
1 Seat base
Now noticed spongy brakes and leaky rear door seal
First one 54K in 2 years and all the problems you can imagine - big fights with LR - 2 4 wheels alignment checks - catastrophic park brake failure at 70mph which totally wrecked back axle brake system - Ride Height Sensor issues - 2 sets of tyres due to alignment issues - radio failures and thats the items I can remember!!
Second one and current vehicle 8K July 07 to date - as delivered big issues but sorted by dealership pretty pronto when I returned vehicle and asked for full refund as vehicle not of merchandisable quality!!
Overall yes great vehicle which is a real workhorse - when all is working cannot beat it!!
