Do you know what...i'm going downstairs to raid the bread bin instead, fancy some toast with loads of butter on it with perhaps a hint of "cruchy peanut butter" washed down with a vintage cup of nescafe and a swig of orange juice followed by a "fag" on the doorstep admiring my D3 on me driveway in all its glory!!

2nd D since April 2005. First died in mysterious circumstances and after spirited negotiations with Landrover I gave them more money and got another. Im note sure who won.
First had recurrent suspension failure that in the end couldnt be diagnosed. They did everyting to it and probably made it worse. Can you still have a broken wire these days.
Currently 6,000 miles since March 2007. Lives in the garage most of the time sitting on a carpet. Drive to work in my P reg Chrysler Neon. But no one messes with it on the road or road side. The trouble with this kind of soft life where you only come out for holidays and country driving is that if there are any problems ( like my first D3) they dont start coming out for a couple of years.
Having driven a D3 for 3 years you wouldnt get it off me.
She is building herself up for a trip to Le Plagne France next month. Got a hotel with a garage of course so she doesnt get snowed up and as the kids are in the back I wont take the carpet I suppose.
Can you still get carpet tiles?.

1 week, 250km, no problems to report (other than door mirror not folding electronically). Averaging (according to the computer ) about 10.6 l per 100km. I hope this bodes well for the future.

You use the beast well then Ron? I can't believe how good it looks for it's mileage - just shows how a cared for D3 can look.

February 2006 - 20500 miles only.
Early tripping turbo issue but been rock solid'ish for the last 18 months.
No EPB issues.
No tyrewear or alignment issues.
No suspension issues.
Squeaky wipers and a one-time-in-ten non-functional cruise control are my only gripes.

From March 06 and 25.5k:
1 x new compressor (going wrong again)
1 x new air spring
2 x front passenger door latch + wiring loom (that fixed it)
1 x front screen
3 x attempted fixes for EPB
1 x new screen wash bottle
Both front seats recovered (baggy)
Rear parking sensors knackered
Not too bad but I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few things. Still happy as a pig in proverbial!!!

No problems apart from the dealer overtigtening the handbrake at the first service. Noticed it when driving up the M6, had to call LRA and they fixed it on the spot.
