Thank you for the great updates. Does anyone know if BMW X5 E53 uses same/similar canbus signals? I had had a iBus usb stick that read the vehicle's can signals so that steering controls worked on my android head unit.
Also the iBus software could read all the dash features and parking radar displayed on the screen. Funny thing is the android unit came with the usual brown canbus reader box that did everything except window, lights and radar distance display.
Sending best wishes of peace and safety to everyone affected over there.

Thanks for the info Yan. Much appreciated. I decided to buy a cupholder mounted blue tooth remote after your information.
I noticed that there is now a canbus decoder (Android) for LR3 on eBay now. It's AU$200 so I'm not that right away. It will be nice to see the software that comes with that particular box.

Im very interested in this mod for my D3. Does anyone have a contact for the guy in Russia selling the CAN adapter board? Edit: Sorted
BTW there isnt different speeds on the CAN BUS'es beetween the vehicles, but the D3 does use the 29bit(CAN 2.0B) extended ID and the D4 uses a 11bit(CAN 2.0A) identifier. The high speed (500K) and medium speed (125K) CAN bus is present on both.
Im in the middle of reverse engineer the CAN buses on my D3 now. If there are anyone around here that are familiar with analyzing a CAN bus and have a D4 im very interested their datalog. Maybe we can make an open source adapter for the D3/L322 tacho. Im very familiar with the CAN bus and programming microchips. I also have the DBC files for the D3 & D4...
Is it possible to have a copy of the D4 dbc file please.

Hi,
I have a 2010MY 3.0TDV6. Have bought a 2011 RRS TFT screen and a "chip programer"
Wondered if anyone could direct me to someone that could help getting it work?
Or maybe a link to some instructions / video if it exists?
Thanks

hi Yan I hope you and your family are keeping safe and keeping the RR safe too. Maybe a silly question but are you still able to help with this upgrade ?

Nearly there.....
Just need to figure out the mileage reset on the chip, and the display type......
I would certainly recommend getting someone like James who knows his way around the chip data, as its complex and certainly NOT straight forward. Thanks again for the help getting so far James.
Hi mate
Can you please advise what physical mods need to be made to the cluster for it to fit?

TFT Cluster Retrofit Done........Almost
Hello gentlemen
I thought I would post these photos and share my experience with upgrading my vehicle. The first mods were the Audio system and AC controls, which TBH were not difficult at all and the instructions supplied ny the seller were very good when coupled with a bit of common sense on my part. Then I came across some videos of people who had retro fitted TFT clusters into their Discoverys and RRS..After reading this entire thread (a few times), along with whatever else I could read on other forums in English, I decided to take the plunge and do the dreaded "TFT mod" to my 2011 RRS Autobiography. So thank you to @James1974 for starting this thread along with @dgarside for replying to my PM and giving me some pointers. Being in Australia with time differences made it a little spooky not being able to talk to someone with experience at this in real time, but there was enough information written in this thread and others (along with pictures) that gave me the confidence to spend the day with my son and do this.
As for the actual fitting and programming, it was a little tricky and the hardest part was trimming the cluster to fit.
If you guys are keen to trust yourselves enough to have a go, I would be more than happy to assist, just PM me.
