I am looking to buy a V6 D5. Two different dealers in different parts of the country have stated (one in an email) that the Crankshaft problem has been sorted in later cars. One dealer could be a mistaken but a second dealer with no connection to the first saying the same thing is promising. Dealers cannot just make stuff up. Does anybody have an email for the correct dept. at LR so that I can confirm this fact and purchase with gay abandon?

Of course they can make it up. They said that the engines going bang was fixed in MY2012, which it wasn’t. Plus even in writing, JLR aren’t bound by anything a dealer says and I’d think in any warranty contract there is a clause re varying the terms of the contract. They can and will say wherever they want, when the smelly stuff hits the fan it won’t mean squat.
