Which is great and I'm honestly envious of you, as the D5 doesn't suit me and there's currently no direct replacement from any manufacturer that replicates the D4.

I wish the D5 was for me as it would have saved me a lot of time and grief when my 2016 Landmark was written off.

My insurers, NFU, even offered me a brand new D5 as a replacement, but instead it took me close to a week to find the right used D4 Landmark.

Thumbs Up

Just to add my two pence, I love my D5, its fantastic to drive compared to all the other LR's i've had, the kids love the rear seats and the new tech.
Unless you've had one i can't see how you can compare?
For me it feels bigger than my old D3 but that's just my opinion.

Really pleased you love yours Thumbs Up

I am sure that it is fantastic to drive and much better to do so than my 9 year old D4, however, for me personally, I am unable to overcome its looks and for that reason alone, I could never buy one. I assumed it might grow on me, but having sat in one last week, I actually dislike it more now than I did when it was released.

Thanks, but for me now the D4 is looking its age compared to the D5, don't get me wrong i still love the look of the D4 but time moves on and the D5 for me is fantastic looking.
But i also understand that its hard for old dogs to learn new tricks.

I’ve driven c.3k miles in 4 or 5 different D5’s. Both 2L and 3L. 👍

Just looked at current pricing, in 2017 my SE TD6 cost £53k, today to get it like for like it’s just over £60k, that’s including the now optional fog lights Rolling Eyes a £7k increase in 2 years. Crazy!

Definitely premium.

Well at least this old dog doesn’t need a guide dog

I saw 20 - 25 D5's today heading into and out of town....no more than 5 D3\4 ...guide dogs or not, and as good as the D3\4s were ...they are now no more than romantic nostalgia that you soon won't be able to drive anywhere without it costing you £12.50 a day ....get with the programme Mr. Green Thumbs Up

Didn't see any D5's today, but that might be because I confused them with a DS, however I did see a few D4's. To avoid ambiguity, I don't like the D5, have driven many thousand's miles in one, my kids don't like the rear seats, I prefer my 6 year old D4, I can afford to buy one as a cash buyer and I'm not envious.

I wish all those that have one the best and am pleased that they like it, but its not for me. Just biding my time until the Rivian is available. Thumbs Up

without wishing to add to the rift here, doesn't that just sum it up ? yes, D3/4 shape may show it's age but it stood out from the rest ... and i don't mean just the LR stable. D5 is a bit too much like many other offerings across a whole range of manufacturers.

I too don't quickly spot D5 vs DS ... have to wait until the ( controversial ) rear number plate is in view to be certain.

and if D3/4 shape is old ... how come G-wagens are so sought after ?

Those of us that live in the countryside, where a big 4x4 makes some sense, don't have to worry. City dwellers - where a big 4x4 makes no sense - on the other hand, need to worry about such things. Thumbs Up
