I've already got something that should prevent misfuelling.
It's a yellow cap with the words DIESEL written in black!
sorry, I know it doesn't help the case ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

It's not me I'm bothered about (I realise that's fatal to say - pride comes before a fall and all that) - it's other people using the car who normally fill up with petrol...2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

I bet 100% of people if asked would say they would never mis-fuel as they could tell petrol from diesel...but it still happens....Cheers

I did contact the guy and he rang me today - they are very much in business but aiming at fleets and police forces. They are not at all against supplying individuals at no extra cost for small purchases but a group buy would have to be 15,000+ units
Questions
1. No international problems?
2. Self fit?
3. Transfer to next vehicle?
4. Splashback problems?
Answers
1. No
2. Yes, easy.
3. If you must, but may increase value of vehicle (a. asset, b. reduced likelihood of misfuel history and c. INSURERS may yet reward / demand its presence )
4. There WERE but definitely solved.
Go for it!

I assume ? a petrol nozzle is a larger diameter, so will not fit in this unit but a smaller diameter diesel nozzle would ?

That, I believe, plus mysterious extra design features. Never having squinted up a petrol or a diesel nozzle, I don't know the difference, but the "thing" apparently relies on more than just diameter restriction. My guess is that petrol and diesel flow control feedback orifices are sited differently which would allow the device to interfere with petrol delivery and not diesel - but that's a pure guess.
PS it works in Oz, he said. so it doesn't matter which way up it is!2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

Don´t think so, the UK ULP nozzle is smaller than the diesel (which is the same size as the old leaded nozzle now defunct).
The FFRR device apparantly needs the larger diesel nozzle to trigger mechanical sensor bars in the inlet and thereby avoid the blanking flap triggering, try it with petrol and the flap comes across and prevents any quantity entering the tank.
Wonder how easy to retrofit the FFRR fuel device???Cheers

IIRC ADRs (Australian Design Rules) require that a diesel fueled car be fitted with a narrower fuel intake to prevent this happening.

This might give a bit of background to the device:

That still allows diesel to be put into a petrol car though, which currently can't happen with the UK diesel nozzle being larger than a ULP filler....
Nozzle size can only ever prevent one-way misfuelling but unless you have something like th FFRR device it will still be possible the other way around.
Not sure if putting diesel into a petrol would be just as bad/common though??Cheers
