That’s exactly what we’re worried about, hence getting to Perth in a couple of days.

Agreed, there are worse places to be stuck in. Liver might suffer more than usual through.

And greetings from SYD domestic terminal. Bit of a stressful drive here, dumped the car and now waiting for the very full flight to Perth.
Got 3 hours of this view ahead, then 5 hours on the flight. Unfortunately in the back of the aircraft with no options of emergency exit seats.

At least the flight is on the board with a gate, a fair smattering of cancelled flights.

50 minutes from landing at Perth. Then 4 nights in a hotel, don’t plan to wander out that much. Was interesting listening to peeps in the terminal that were quite happily flying even though they should have been in isolation after getting off a cruise ship.

Morning all, and greetings from a booooooootiful day in Perth. Already been out running, and sitting enjoying breakie on the 16th floor in a pretty deserted lounge, watching the aeromed heli doing its thing. A bit of a backlog in pics, incl SWMBO’s much better attempts on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, will post later.
Grat pic from here & now time.

Off for a walk to Kings Park, followed by hair cut and soak in the tub. It’s one of those days.

Will do, and hopefully goes smoothly too. Our hotel is pretty empty at the mo so off downstairs to see if we can move room. Too much coughing from the room next door, esp considering at least 2 peeps are self isolating here.

It can’t be over so soon, it only seems like last decade that you set off.

It hopefully will be finished, for now, on Wednesday. Hope peeps have enjoyed it, hopefully shown peeps places they might not get to. The world is going to be a very different place, travel wise, once this cv malarkie is sorted, but still lots to see out there. We’ve me a LOT of peeps on these two trips, in hotels, on tours, in buses, on planes, etc, etc, etc and hoping they are doing as well as they can, especially in the poorer countries we’ve been through.
Still got SWMBO’s new bridge pics to post up, need to check on photographic prizes available. And stopped posting pics of food, esp this morning’s breakfast. More on that plate than Tesco’s shelves.

As Pelyma says, "It can’t be over so soon, it only seems like last decade that you set off" and your journeys have given this (LR) community an insight into some fascinating places that you and Mrs Del have enjoyed.
I am a bit sad that your Aussie adventures were overshadowed by CORVID-19 but thank you immensely for your postings to date. May you resume after the madness is over.
Cheers, LeighLeighW

We’ll be back to Aus once the madness is over, prob for several months. We loved Aus, and Japan, those are the priorities for next trip. And we’ll be back to all the hotels we had to cancel when we cut & ran back to Sydney.
It’s been fascinating watching a different country cope with a problem like this, from within the middle of it. Fingers crossed for everyone here, and hopefully all will be well once things get back to normal. As Arnie likes to say, we’ll be back.
Keep safe all our Antipodean friends.

Morning/evening/afternoon all. Bit of catch up on pics from, well SWMBO’s photographic skills need an outlet.
Bluff Rock on the drive down. Nice little exposure.

Sydney Harbour Bridge. We tried to get from the north avoiding the toll roads, bridges or tunnels, but Google Maps failed miserably. Bit of a slog from the M1 to the bridge in rush hour.

And the bridge with a plague cruise ship. Not the Ruby Princess which was just allowed to throw off all it’s passengers to then travel freely, incl when we were passing though SYD airport. Thanks NSW Health.

Back to Perth, this is from our last walkabout. Have stayed in the hotel since then. This platform is usually pretty busy, and I still wasn’t allowed to jump up & down on it.

And a rubbish pic of a kookaburra. It seems years ago when we were watching another one in the trees in Margaret River, it was only 2 months ago.

And sunset over N Central Perth.

In 10 hours we’ll be on the aircraft waiting to push back, touch wood. The 787 that should be taking us to LHR is now in Melbourne so will be watching that closely. Hopefully we’ll have a car lift from LHR to home, part of the Qantas ticket, if not we’ll try and get an Uber, is that doesn’t work it’ll be tube, tube then rail. Hopefully won’t come to the latter.
