Tow bar fixings

Hi all,

I'm presently upgrading from a 2005 D3 to a 2010 D4( don't ask why Laughing ) looking at swapping the Land Rover fixed tow bar from the D3 to the D4.
What fittings will I need? Bushes?
Looking to get everything ready as I'm going to be doing the job on Wednesday and we are going to be using it Friday to tow the caravan for a 2 week holiday.
As always advice would be greatly appreciated.
If more fittings are required links to them would be great.

You'll need two spacer tubes (item K) that go inside the chassis leg (don't drop them when fitting!), see attached images... you can order these direct from Towtrust for not much money but I know some on here have made up their own...

Can I ask why bush 'K' is needed? I thought chassis was the same. No real changes at the rear till 2015 and adblue mods.
Asking for a friend..

Hi Kev,

My 2005 D3 had the bushes already in place in the chassis, my 2010 D4 didn't.

The bushes sit inside the chassis to stop the chassis from crushing when the bolts are tightened.

Saudi Arabia

Looks like they have also got rid of that bizarre spring arrangement to hold the locking pin in place too, according to that parts diagram Laughing

The parts diagram above is the Tow-Trust type not the Land Rover one, the Land Rover one still has the locking handle.

Personally fitted the Tow-Trusr one on my new to me D4.
