Taz, its worth checking, or even changing as a matter of 10mins work. at that mileage the D3 will benefit and return a bit more economy and pay for its own filter

Agreed, worth changing anyway as I noticed big diference in mpg. Esp if you've been offroad in dusty places.

I work in a concrete works, hence why I got a RAI as the wheels do kick up the dust, but still the D3 wanted to digest the particles.
Changed jobs then?I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Errrrrr nope, always been at the same works, HGV based on contract to Marshalls Mono concrete works, but we always get back loads n stuff to cover the other side of Stobart work. They never run us more than 20miles empty.
Ah, sorry. Your post suggested you work IN a concrete works rather than working FOR a concrete works. Slightly misleading there me old mucker.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Yeah I know, welcome to life of a Stobart driver. You are contracted to a company, like mine is Marshalls who make the posh slabs n block paving, but that only lasts till your 1st load is off on Monday, then stobart sends you here there n everywhere.
One of the reasons why I dont use the D3 at work, cos I never know whether I get home that night, and the travellers like the staff car park
So you work in a concrete works, which is why you fitted a RAI to your D3. But you don't actually work IN the works, nor do you take the D3 to the works.

MacLeod bashing at the extreme here..........I used to take my old TD5 into the works and it suffered badly through the clogging up of filter, and the dust is thick off the tyres, really thick. So I took advice, OFF THE FORUM, and the way to go was RAI. But since then the mileage was worrying me from Hastings to North Kent, so I bought a work car off ebay. Only £500 for an escort ghia with 30k. Could'nt care less about the ford, or whether its parked near travellers. All my work mileage is on that, and the D3 is for playin
Just puzzled by all the non sequiturs, the inconsistencies I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Puzzled, puzzled
Let me explain
D3 too good to naff up in a concrete works, parked there sometimes all week in the acidic dust, bought a banger to cover work days, use D3 at weekends and for work only when guaranteed to return to works SAME day

Nope, not seeing how that ties in with

Still, if it makes sense to you, that's fine.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

The RAI does raise it enough to get the dust away from the intake, but maybe not enough. I aint the only one suffering this at work either. The escort is white/grey at the end of every day, gets to me at times. I hate to take the D3 to work, but needs must. She needs to be used and I am caught between a rock n a hard place on whether I should use it or not. I have'nt been for a few weeks and now the EPB began to stick. So these last fews days I have used the D3 and then the filter blocks

I bought a Britpart one last week from Paddocks (£6.50p + VAT) - you can use it to change yours over the holiday if you want to then replace it in the New Year

I just checked my air filter, and I have discovered an entire family of (presumably) illegal immigrants living in it..............
