A lot of the main brands sell High Mileage versions of mainstream products but only in America
I asked them why and this is the interesting statement
"There is no special reason behind the labeling, since the oils are produced to meet the requirements of OEM manufacturers."
I think I have found a genuine "Snake Oil" product.

Which oil for next oil change
Hello there.
I've for a 2009 D3 with the original 2.7 tdv6 to the car. It's on 135k miles and for the last two oil changes has been running on 5w-40 C3 quantum oil with Archoil Ar9200 added in. In 4k miles time I am going to be changing the oil again and am wanting to pull the sump off and give it a clean out and inspect the bottom end (because I want to) and clean the oil pickup.
What oil would people suggest that I put in once the sump goes back on? I cold start every morning, and evening going to and fro from work. So maybe a 5w-30 again for a 0w-30 or even 0w-40. About 20 miles each way and I do a fair bit of towing dragging broken down cars and projects around on my trailer. I probably tow at least twice a week with it.
Should I stay 5w-40 or? Best ZDDP and HTHS oil for the discos etc?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am about to do my first interim oil change on my drive, which isn't level everywhere. I know it's important to ensure the car is level when doing this job, so wonder what is the best way of confirming the car is level, rather than just seeming to be level? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

I've always assumed that on a properly level surface, the rear bed of the car was also completely level, but happy to be corrected if that is not true. One benefit of the D3/D4 is that the load-space is big enough that you can get a decent-sized spirit level in there! You could probably also temporarily level the car using the air suspension, to cope with the slope on your drive, if you have a suitable code reader.Previously:

Yes, I also wasn’t sure about whether the car is level anyway when lowered to access mode. I assume it is, as my Indy showed me what they do for an oil change, obviously they have a level floor, but didn’t make any suspension adjustments beforehand. I have a gravel drive with undulations and various small gradients hence my question. I’m glad I’m not the only one that wondered about a spirit level. I thought perhaps I might run it along the cill. Not sure what the neighbours will think as I make lots of small manoeuvres in the car and use a spirit level !

best way is to measure what you put in (5.7lts) buy a cheap plastic measuring jug or pinch the other halfs kitchen one (dont tell her though ) then measure what you take out so you can see how much oil is being used between changes
use the dipstick for your weekly checks of the level rather than initial filling please excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick,thankyou

I bought myself some Valvoline Synpower ENV C1 for my Disco 3, MY2005, V6 2.7l, HSE.
Will that do or is there a better suited oil?

This is what I am still using in my D4 (155K km). (but now C3/C4 exceed the C1 specifications). You can use it in your D3 but this oil is specific for Engine with DPF (low SAPS - ashes).
IMO better to use A3/B4 oil because not all additives can be used in low faps oils.JM

I hold, that after 100k miles (160k kms) to change to 5w/40 and have done for all my D3 (EU3 &4) customers for many years now without issue. I also run my own two D3's on 5w/40.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

You're right. Everything I've read points in that direction. My next oil change should be 5W40 C4.JM
