I think the D4 in the darker colours seem to show that they suit the new grille and lights better.

'Black' is the word you are looking for I think!

You know you want to go to the dark side.

There is no shame in it.

Once you have accepted it then life becomes a lot easier.

It's telling your friends & family that's the hardest part but they will come round!

Santorini Sir? Suit you Sir! Laughing

I've never liked any browns due to being a child in the British Leyland era, however that brown D4 at the launch in New York looks stunning. Just dark enough to blend with the grill and yet light enough to allow the glass shapes to stand out. Very up market and classy looking motor.
Thumbs Up

More 18" off road tyres are becoming available as more Jap 4x4s are coming out with them.

I knew there must be a reason for all those Jap 4x4s. I suppose the tyres would be 265/65, rather than say 255/65 at 118-120LI in GY SAs & MTRs. 265/65 SAs are available in the US and whilst they're only LI 112, that's better than their 265/60 at 109.

My (common looking Evil or Very Mad ) silver with the bramble rash looks interesting enough.

Not sure the "dark" colors are quite going to do it for me unless I want very pronounced pin striping!!!!!!!

From Slimer's photo of the RRS, I must say it looks like a bulldog. Is this the association that LR is trying to develop? Shocked

I'm just back from a week away, and I think it looks good - spot on. There's no question that LR must continue to update its range and it must keep its eye on its core market, i.e., those who buy in numbers that can keep a car company alive. I think it's hit upon another fantastic winner. The negative feedback is no worse and perhaps milder than it was when the D3 was first revealed to a D2-loving audience. The D3 has very rightly become recognised as a masterpiece of design. I think the new interior and the new engine will steal buyers in droves from Volvo, VW, Audi and others. That disapoints me only insofar as my car will become less of the individualist's choice but a winch, RAI, ladder and a spot or two of bramble rash will soon sort that out. I'm keeping the D3 and adding bits to it. I'll very seriously consider a D4 when my other lease runs out this autumn. As for colours, silver's out because our D3 is silver. I like Rimini Red but I need to see the new alpaca interior before I buy that combination, especially because I very much like the black interior in the shots above.

Well done, Land Rover. Thumbs Up

let me see if I can clarify my point, my local council has passed planning permission for the construction of a sainsburys in my town, I've fought this all the way, not, as I'm being told because I'm against progress and I'm anti change but because we already have a Tesco and a Somerfield and the town centre is dying! Way back in the eighties The discovery was built to sit between the Range and the Defender which is exactly where it is in the D3, this D4 is a another Range Rover which isn't needed! Leave me my Utilitarian/Tarmac Masterpiece! which you chrome lovers seem to have forgotten has won every award imaginable since it's launch why have another Rangie???????

I have really grown to the D4 this week. I had reservations at first, and there are still a few things I would change (like the grille) but this is the same on any new car.

Thinking about it, the grille isn't that bad, just a little bit unfitting with the rest of the car, although modified grilles for the D3 have been on eBay for years so I'm sure a solution (like the black one I mocked up previously) won't be too hard to find, expensive, or difficult to fit. I can see why they put it on though, a 'sporty' edge to attract to the majority of their buyers.

It's exciting to the see the car we all know and love evolving - I think most of us just don't want to see the demise of something we all know first hand to be unbeatable. And I know it wont be.

Genuinely, hats off to LR. They've got a tricky job to do and they do it well. So long as it comes with rubber mats and the interior is okay to wipe down with a sponge like our current one is then we may well be on the waiting list when it comes out Thumbs Up

As a range the refreshed LR products stack up well against the opposition in the looks and interior. I hope it sell very well.
