Think it is a difficult job due to needing ECU for the seats plus wiring etc. I think it has been done before though, no doubt someone will come along with the answer.
As for a 5 to 7 seat conversion, if it is coil sprung I don't think you can as it goes against type approval and would probably invalidate any insurance/warranty. 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Can you not just slip the leather covers off the old seats onto the manual ones? I assume the seats are essentally the same apart from the arm rests?

Hi guys still looking for information on replacing my standard cloth seats with electric leather.
I assumed that the wiring loom would be the same and would just be a matter of plugging it all in
Greatful for any advice welsh petrol head

There are a number of very good aftermarket upholsterers that have been used on the forum. I got the name of one after seeing the work they had done on a car at Sturgess Land Rover in Leicester - can't find the name now. But they would probably be the best people to offer advice and even carry out a seat material swap for you.
I did this one on an original mini - frankly I would rather than do that again. LR seats would probably be 10 x worse "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Actually I was following on from another suggestion that you swap the covers from second hand seats onto your own bases - avoiding the problem with electrics. Which, is probably going to be nearly* impossible to get working as you haven't got the right loom, or memory modules for the seats. Probably not the heating elements, loom or dash switches either.
* anything is possible if you have enough money "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

All out the window now, mate who is a breaker was outbid
Was going to change door cards as mine are badly marked, HA officers/motorway pasti/pie eating wombles had bad habit of catching seat belts in doors and damaging front door cards.
Looking for black door cards if any one has any and leather seats, looks like they would have to be manuel
Also need tie down rings in boot and stainless side bars. welsh petrol head
